cot advice

Hi we had 2 seperate ones purey because my 2 were quite noisy little wrigglers and would have kept each other awake through. In the day I had a travel cot downstairs with a bassinette level and they both used to sleep in that together cos I could see them and check they weren't smothering each other or getting so close that they breathe each others co2 in. When they were really little thay had a moses basket each upstairs and then went into a cot each at about 8/9 weeks early I know but they sle...

Ruby's were like that but now she does them in the potty they are formed, dont think sitting on it and squelching it helps. Sebastian will be in nappies till he is 5 I think has no inclination whats so ever so i've not even been encouraging it with him, feel a bit bad as R is doing it but she chose to so I go along with it, do you think Seb may feel left out??? xx

H had a nasty fall

Awww poor you last week Seb had took one of the hoover pipes off the hoover and without me knowing had been running with it in his mouth (bad mummy) he fell over and cut all the roof of his mouth, now i'm a nurse see lots of gorey stuff and have to remain calm in frantic life or death situations and I do, but when I saw all the blood I felt faint/sick panicked and rushed him nextdoor and my poor neighbour a soldier who is off sick after having an operation had to deal with him, I went to pieces ...

Blood Test Results

Those results look fine to me your hb (hameoglobin) is only fractionally low thats your blood count, so could try eating things richer in iron to bring it up which is good for you in pregnancy anyway. Or take a prenatal vitamin too!! When you think about all the hard work your body is having to do at the moment making a little life it's no wonder your not within the exact ranges. Dont worry sweetpea it's all good!! xxx

Parenting Chat

Hi ya my 2 still have morning and night milk in bottles tried beakers but they will not drink any of it so going to stay with them till xmas than am going to throw them away. H is the age now where he has sussed that you will eventually come and get him and put him into bed with you, so yes I believe that controlled crying would be the best thing to do for him. I've been having to do this with my 2 this week as they've been quite unsettled. Seb and Ruby have always had a cold snacky lunch and a ...

Hi Ruby has been using her potty reguarly for the last 3 days i've been at home and just left her with a bare bum and everytime even when i've not been in the room she's used it we clap go and empty it then wash hands. Seh's so funny cos she likes to do it about 6 times in a row and really squeezes a wee out so we can all make a fuss!!! I've cut down on so many nappies already!!! My question is what do I do now??? I'm to scared to go nappyless when I go out cos having 2 of them i'd find it hard ...

Its such an arse working when you nly earn £700 and have to pay £500 on childcare but I need the flexibility as i'm practically a single mum and shift work does not fit in with that if I did weekdays 9-5 would be fine!!! She's 22 and am hoping she's...

Employing a Nanny

Being a nurse and having a dh in the forces off to warzones at the drop of a hat makes life a bit complicated for me. The Nursery opening hours just aren't flexible enough and i'm often late to work, I cant do late or night shifts and work is getting a bit funny. Am interviewing a nanny tomorrow who is happy to work different days everyweek including some till 10pm and some weekends. What sort of things should I be asking apart from checking her references and making sure I like her? She's charg...

Talking

If it helps I think it may be a boy thing, Ruby is chattering none stop and putting 3 words together but Seb will only do one at a time and doesn't say as much. He does however count to 10!!!! Once Max starts I think you'll find that everyday he'll just keep progressing xxx
