Rash around mouth? Any advice on possible allergies/intolerance?

Hi, I was after some advice/ideas on what could be causing a rash DS has around his mouth. DS has just turned 1 and from birth had possible protein intolerance to cows milk so was on Neocate formula until weaning at 6mths when we moved him onto Aptamil and all was ok. He's been fine with cows milk in cooking and yogs n cheese. Over last few wks and in particular this last wk he's had a rash around his mouth n chin and few red marks on cheek and around his eyes. My sister-in-law said strawberries...

Advice on Snacks and dropping avo milk feed pls ;)

Thanks ladies I decided to drop it today and sat H in his highchair with a beaker of water and gave him some fruit followed by a rusk which he demolished and looked very happy indeed! Thanks for the tips on different snacks, some great ideas. I'm actually making some muffins tomorrow which H loves so will give him some. Funny how they squash some foods but not others?!

Help Pls -So confused about Weaning?!!!

Hi All Just after some advice/tips on weaning. I'm so confused about what to do as everything I read tends to recommend different things! My boy will be 6mths on 7th Jan and we started weaning 3/4 wks ago, firstly some baby rice for tea for a few days then veg purees. H has taken to the new tastes very well so last wk I introduced breakie which has been fruit purees or mashed banana. Feeding routines for bottles to date have been 6-7am early morning bottle, 10:30, 1:30, 4:30-5 then bedtime feed ...

Blood in stools, poss intolerance to protein in cows milk - Neocate formula - Any thoughts?

Hi, We have had a bit of a traumatic time the last few weeks with our LO. Unfortunately Henry has been poorly on his milk formula, projectile vomiting on the SMA and then blood in his poo on the Cow & Gate we changed him too, so we have been up the childrens hospital the last 2 fridays! They have done loads of blood tests and checked him over and all is ok thankfully but they think he may have an intolerance to the protein in the cows milk in the formula so he has been put on a special formula o...

Baby sleeping most of day and not much at night?? Hates his moses basket too! Advice please

Thanks Chris, that is exactly what I thought but people keep telling me different things!! I think he is doing pretty well compared to what I have heard about some babies and I know they do tend to sleep alot in the early days anyway. So difficult with your first child, everybody has an opinion on what you should/shouldnt do and I guess we just need to go with what feels right and let him find his own way a little to begin with!

Hungrier Formula for Hungry Babies?

Hi, From Day 1 our LO has been a very hungry baby, he was 8lb 3oz when born, did not lose any birth weight and weighed 8lb 9oz on day 10 - he is now 3 wks old. We are feeding him Cow & Gate and he is having 120ml x 7/8 feeds a day, which is a bit more than it says 'on the tin'. Sometimes he is still hungry after a feed and we were wondering whether we should try him on the hungrier baby formula? Does anybody know what effect this has, is it simply more filling or does it reduce the number of fee...

Baby sleeping most of day and not much at night?? Hates his moses basket too! Advice please

Hi Our LO is 3wks old and tends to sleep most of the day but not much at night!! I know it is very early days but I wondered if anybody has any ideas on how to keep the LO awake a little during the day, which may then help with the night time sleeping. If I take him out in his pram of car seat, he will sleep, if he goes in his bouncy chair he will sleep and if he is on my lap he will sleep better than any other place. He also hates his moses basket. After a feed, he will fall asleep after being ...

Anyone experienced problems with SMA - Should we consider changing formula? Advice Please

Hi, Our LO is 2 weeks today. I breastfed for the first 5 days but introduced formula for night time feeds from day 2, as LO was an extremely hungry baby and the breast just did not seem to be enough, and I was exhausted from the constant feeds and suffered from very sore nipples. We decided to move onto full time formula and have been using SMA. We have been feeding him pretty much on demand, which works out at about 7/8 feeds in 24hrs, ranging in amounts although nearly almost the full recommen...

Stopped Breastfeeding - Don't know what to do about my swollen breasts? Help Please!!

Hi I made the decision to stop breastfeeding yesterday and move to formula and when I told the midwife yesterday and asked her what to do with my breasts, she said to leave them alone, do not talk to them, massage or touch them in anyway. She advised me to take ibuprofen and use savoy cabbage leaves to help soothe them and to absolutely not express them at all to relieve any swelling, as this would stimulate more milk production. I have heard mixed info about this and would like some advice as t...
