NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey all How are we all? Pip - it’s a hard one as I know how much I love being part time. However if it’s a really good opportunity I think like heather says you should go for it. You could always negotiate down to 4 days after you’ve proved yourself in the role or maybe try and work from home sometimes if that’s possible ( I’m not sure what you do for work sorry!) maybe write down the pros and cons and have a think. Let us know how you get in. How are the girls? Cheenab are your three excited fo...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey all Pip that’s great that potty training going so well. It’s sad isn’t it when they aren’t babies anymore but think of all the fun stuff to come! Also what you can treat yourself too with the money saved on nappies lol. Ashastar that’s great that treatment is now being planned etc. Keeping it all crossed for you! Cheenab how are things going? Sorry to hear about the behaviour. L has defo changed since going to school. Do you think something is happening there? I try my hardest to ignore as m...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

I think almost all private health insurance excludes fertility treatment unfortunately. The only thing they ever helped me out with was post birth surgery to assist with my botched episiotomy lol! ( well not so lol at the time I have to say!!). I had L on my NHS treatment but had to go private for E. X Pip how are things going? The girls will get there before you know it. As for behaviour I so agree! L always seems to play up in company. Mind you I was mortified today. L went on her first school...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hey ladies Re potty training - I would leave it then try again. With L, we tried and failed a few times then it just clicked one day with her. We still had some accidents but it a good success. I knew she wasn’t ready when she did a poo in her Wendy house in the garden lol! I just put E in a bed as we are going on holiday in December and there’s no cot and she’s too big for a travel cot so my hand has been forced a bit. I’d have left her longer if I had my way. Mind you she’s been a super star a...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

I’m glad your FET is on the go now - I know we’ll all be rooting for you! What happened to Clare has also really affected me. My good friend passed away in January aged 38, and that plus this really makes you realise life is short and so precious and you need to make the most of it. I’ve been stressing over work so much recently And it’s made me think again whether I need to change career. Such a sad time, I just can’t stop thinking about her little girls. Had first parents evening tonight at sc...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi all Ashastar - sorry to hear about DH’s Dad and glad he’s on the mend. Sorry also to hear about work, I can do sympathise. Do you think there is anyone you could talk to to try and take some of the pressure off? My work are really similar with me - it can be intolerable can’t it so I really do send a very sympathetic hug. As for the FET - my two girls are both single embryo FETs so it can definitely work!! I agree about the stress though - have you tried something like yoga or Pilates? I’ve f...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi all Wardie so great to hear from you and glad all is going well. Life sounds pretty hectic but fun! Pip hope girls don't stay up too late tonight!! And hope their colds go soon. That's strange about A's back - do you think she's bruised it or something? How are things with DH? Ashastar I'm glad R's HV check went well. How is work just now? Heather how did the literacy meeting go? That must be so hard for her and for you. Hope the house of illness is soon a house of health! It's always seems t...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi all Sorry for the silence - have been ill all week ( thanks to E sharing her germs lol). L has settled into school really well and tells me she loves it there so that's good. I know she won't enjoy every day but hopefully she'll continue to be positive about it all! She's only on half days this week and she's already exhausted so I am dreading next week a bit when she starts full days. E is moving up to the next room at nursery next month too so lots of changes here. She's totally nuts - ador...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hello ladies sorry for the silence Have been stressing over L starting school on Monday - agh how did my baby grow up so quickly! Trying to take tomorrow and Wednesday off work so I can spend some time with her so have only just finished work now to try to get ahead. E is doing really well. She started swimming lessons yesterday and loved them and today she tried tumbletots for the first time ( baby gym basically) and she loved that even more! Nice to have some things to do with her. And the swi...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

All the best Ashastar, as Pip says, we'll all be here for you. I can also empathise with the frozen embryo dilemma. We had 1 left after I had E. I agonised and agonised over it but in the end we let it go, and I have to say I have regretted it ever since. Whilst I don't think we would ever try for another (it's physically impossible for us naturally due to DH), and DH is adamant he doesn't want another baby as he struggled quite a bit with the baby stage, lack of sleep etc, I just get such stron...
