Persistant coughing

Interestingly Polly my DS had bad reflux. Although he's not on medication now and I don't think is in pain, I often think he still has it. I just hope the Dr takes us seriously. I've been back and fore so much. Xx

Persistant coughing

I am going through EXACTLY the same thing with my 8 month old. He had croup a month ago and has coughed ever since. He had steroids for the croup and it seemed to settle, but I took him back after 2 weeks when he was still coughing. They said he had ear infection in both ears and he got antibiotics. They didn't work and he got really sick with high temp etc, so I took him back and he got different antibiotics. We finished those at the end of lay week, but he is still waking coughing a LOT. I alm...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Sasha - so sorry to hear the news. Just horrendous and I've been thinking of it a lot these past few days. Scary to think they were just going about their jobs and people were having a good time in a great bar when something like that can strike. Awful. Hope your little one continues to improve. It sounds like the worst is past. Anyone have a baby with reflux? Would be interested in discussing a few things if there is! A was on the maximum gaviscon since he was really little. He's 5 and half mon...

Rocky - I would have gone for the foam ones if DH hadn't gone to extreme measures! I haven't seen the life coach and now I'm undecided as to whether I really need to see her. Possibly just having a bit of bad time, but over it! Not sure. Feeling so much better though and maybe just had a bit too much going on and it all came to a head! A has had a more sore day today and seems more refluxy again, so not sure might have to try him with gaviscon again. Will see how he is tomorrow. He's coughing a ...

Before I got a chance to discuss bed guards with DH, he'd cut the legs of the bed in half!! So, we've never used one. She fell out a few times, but it was so low she never hurt herself and we moved her rug there to cushion the fall. It works really well actually and was an old pine bed with a new mattress. A will use it once he moves into a big bed and then we will get N a bed with storage underneath. Lovely crisp day today! X

Liz - thanks for that - its reassuring to hear that Ross needed a bit of time with you as well and that it helped. N is SO much better. I'm so pleased we took her out. She just seems so much more chilled and her behaviour has been so much better too. Going to just see how it goes about putting her back. My gut is that she won't go back to the same nursery. The sleeping situation isn't quite so bad. I've been getting DH to deal with her now he's home and she accepts when he sends her back to her ...

Out and about walking your toddler

Try not to compare with others are they are all different. Hard I know! Personally, its only these past few months since my daughter turned 2 that I've felt she is safe walking with me and won't run off etc. it might be your little one is too little yet. My DD still uses the buggy, especially if we are out and about and I need her safe and need to feed DS. Has he a smart trike or a push along? This might work? Or you could try putting some new toys on his pram and then take him out for bits of t...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hmcfeather - yes I'm being strict with the getting out of bed at the moment until she gets that! It's not bad at all. I think at the moment N just needs that reassurance too and just now I'm just giving it to her in the hope she feels safe and confident in her own bed. I've been leaving her room door open and ours and this is helping. Settling is better, but she still gets out her bed a couple of times! We have a great routine, which we've had since day dot and it works well. She loves her stori...

Buzzbee - I said I wasn't going to go mad, but I just can't help it! N is getting stuff for 3+ I usually make sure parts aren't that small, but she isn't one for putting stuff in her mouth anyway. She's getting the ELC wooden wonderland palace with Sofia figures! She's really into princesses and that sort of thing just now. She's also getting a little guitar as she loves singing and dancing, some games and a hobby horse. She's getting too much actually as she's getting a wooden cradle bed for he...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Bee - I can totally relate to what you are saying and you sound just like me! What age is your DS1? It helps me to remember that life is a science experiment for our littlies - they aren't really being bad, they just want to know how everything works. I think I've over parented my DD1 and with stuff she hasn't been old enough to understand properly. I went through a stage of panicking that I didn't want her to be badly behaved and got myself overly stressed with myself and her. I think we all do...

It has been very quiet on here! Children take up a lot of time and energy!! Rocky - I still can't believe you guys are having another! Good on you! I seriously think I'd have a nervous breakdown if I got pregnant again just now!! Sounds like everything is going in the right direction without DP's job. Good luck to her and hope it all goes well. All is well with us, although I've found life with two quite hard! It is def getting easier as A's reflux eases and N gets bigger and more independent. A...
