Trouble getting twin toddlers to sleep

Hi ladies, I haven't been on here for a while either and find your thread very interesting. I am also at the point where I am contenplating taking the sides off the cots but I'm too nervous as they are both little monkeys and will be running round, jumping on each other, fighting over toys and climbing too. I have to have their window locked too as we have a window seat so they spend ages watching cars and people go past the house. If you find a solution Heather I'd be very interested. I don't w...

Shopping for newborn twins & what to pack into the hospital bag?

Congrats all you ladies expecting twins, I remember the excitement and want it all over again! I saw that you mention micro nappies and wanted to add that unless your babies come VERY early then there is no need. One of mine was 4lbs and I found that micro nappies didnt hold enough wee or poo so I was better off with using size 1's. I ended up giving away the other packet. Just as the others say - lots of little vests and sleepsuits (ones with have poppers up the front, the others are a faff) an...

Hi ladies, good luck today Whiteangel, fingers crossed over the next few days Rianon, I'm sorry to hear it didn't work this time, as you say there is alwasys plan B and C, and your DD. Hi Christine, bet your DS is running around as are mine now, they are just 6 days apart in age. Congratulations Babydust! I can imagine how hectic it must be for you now. Takes me back a few months! I still can't believe I have two DD's. I hope everyone else on here is as lucky as we have been. Hopeful, not long t...

Hey ladies, sorry it's taken me a while to get back on here. Great news Whiteangel that you did hear from Guy's - I hope they have given you a working phone number now. Re the travel, if you are on the train lots it will probably be worth buying a railcard and getting a third off your journey. You'd need to check restrictions though. I was lucky as lived in London for many years and only moved out after my girls were born. I would say that working in the 2ww may keep you sane, but I was off for ...

PGD Chatter

Hi there, sorry you are having trouble with getting through to Guy's ACU. I haven't called them in a while but do remember it could take a while. I would suggest you keep on calling (I know annoying for you) but it would be awful to miss starting this month if everything else is ready. They are open at weekends for EC and scans but I don't think the reception/ admin is on duty. The phones work 8/8.30 to 4/4.30 (can't remember exactly) but worth starting early. Once you do start I can assure you ...

Hey ladies, sorry I haven't been around to catch up with you all for a while. I can see there is lots to read tomorrow when I have more time. I just wanted to post that Guy's are having a party to celebrate their 300th PGD baby being born. Anyone else going? I think it's hugely exciting and a wonderful boost for all you lovely ladies currently undergoing PGD tx. Love to you all x

Male Factor Infertility - varicocele??

Hi, my DH has a smaller varicocele and we spoke to our consultant about an op but he gave us the same response as you - that surgery wouldn't necessarily help things at all and it would put DH out of action for a while. I also have fertility issues so we decided without a doubt that IVF/ICSI was right for us, obviously that is a big step and you have to decide what you want to do. I do know that DH's count was variable and this depended upon how well he had been and also we believe that selenium...

Stretch Marks

I didn't appear to have any until the last couple of weeks when I found a couple, but then once the babies were out lots appeared as my tummy went down - very odd. They have faded lots now though. I did use bio oil but that didn't help me much. Although I don't have a bikini tummy now I am happy to say that I am proud of the marks as they show were the babies were, so if you do get any marks then think of them like that and you won't mind at all All the best with your pregnancy hun x

Urologist in London?

Hello, I can totally recommend a Urologist, the most lovely man who has looked after me and DH for years. He is private and NHS in your area as I used to live near you. I can send you a PM with his name in a sec so have a look in there. All the best x

Hi Whiteangel, I'm sorry you are having trouble getting through to Guy's - at peak times it can be a bit tricky but once you are in there they will take care of you. The number in my phone for the ACU is 02071882300. I guess you can't try until Monday though. Sorry I can't help about the coil, I have never had one but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't affect the blood tests, not sure about the u/s. Enjoy your trip down, hope you have time to enjoy London too, borough market is near Guy's and great for...

Goodness me, I have just read your article above whiteangel, I'm so sorry to hear about your SIL. I missed the program but hope to get it on iplayer when we are home from hols in a few days. I know Guy's will look after you, they are totally brilliant and without them I wouldn't have my DD's due to my translocation making me miscarry (aswell as fertility issues). Pearl, great betas, enjoy every minute hun x Nat, hope you find ways to cope with the sickness and hope it goes away in a few weeks (i...

Oh wow Pearl, congratulations! I think you can believe the result the day before the official Beta day. Such lovely news to hear just before I go on hols for a week Natalie, thinking of you and your little ones, you sound a bit more relaxed about it now so that's good, loving your new signature too! AngelA, welcome to FZ and the PGD chatter! I'm realy sorry to hear about your baby boy but fingers crossed there will be good results from your PGD biospy. Just rest after EC and I hope things work o...

I agree with Hayley, take one day at a time Nat. The multiples team at your hospital will be able to answer your questions and hopefully reassure you. I went to a TAMBA talk and they said that with triplets you are very likely to get free help with the babies from homestart (look it up on the net) and local colleges with childcare courses will have students happy to get hands on experience helping you with three. In answer to your question - mine are not identical at all. Right, back onto PGD - ...

Fighting non stop about everything

Thank you for all your replies girls, I'm so glad I posted this on FZ. And I'm also glad I'm not the only one with the little ones going through this 'phase'. Perhaps this coincides with them starting to walk and become more independent? Maybe they get scared and get clingy due to that? Moonshine, I tried your technique of playing with them without toys today, I have done it before but never realised how beneficial it was having nothing for them to fight over! So they were jumping off a little s...

OMG Nat, just seen your news (I did look yesterday but looked too early, I was thinking of you!) - you lucky lady and how amazingly special. I can totally understand your worries and your head being all in a mess. I worried with two but your hospital will look after you now they know. Expect the babies to come early and work out your finances and practical issues now. You will already have lots of things from having Cara and I'm sure she will make a good big sis. You will know the cost of nappie...

Fighting non stop about everything

Thanks for your reply Kirstin, I hope yours are more chilled out too. I am hoping this is a clingy stage but it's going on a long time and others I know with twins aren't getting this. Just now I have had them howling as they wanted me to get them out of the bath first and then whilst I was doing the nappy and dressing one in her jamas the other was throwing a strop, rolling on the floor screaming as she wanted my attention too. Then when I swap over the first one starts howling. It's nice to be...
