Fertility Apps

Thank you Clare glad those apps worked for you. Yes, the choice is confusing! Perhaps I should just take pot luck. Congrats on your twin pregnancy! X

Fertility Apps

Hello Net and thanks for your reply! I think lots of us have found things different after pregnancy / breastfeeding. After stopping feeding DS1 at about 17 months I had 3 bleeds before things petered out to nothing again. This time things seem a bit more regular for now although I guess it might not last again. Funnily enough I've also felt my metabolism had changed. I am slimmer even though I'm eating like a horse. I'm guessing it's all to do with breastfeeding hormones / PCOS etc. Of course th...

Fertility Apps

Hello all Can anyone recommend a Fertility monitoring app? I have an iPhone. There seem to be loads so I'm not sure where to begin. I'm particularly interested to know which might be good for more uneven cycles. I have had amenorrhea due to PCOS for many years, though I have happily conceived two babies with the help of drugs to get me ovulating. But in the last 5 months or so I seem to have had a cycle of sorts. It's not quite regular though it's basically once a month and the bleeds vary a lot...

Has anyone had to be induced at 34 weeks? Due to Low fluid? (Or anything else)

Hi WMG Sorry you've had cause to be worried. Great you saw the consultant and were reassured. Hope things continue ok. Don't feel silly if you need more reassurance - just push for more checks if you have any more worries. Anyway I was really popping in here to say OH MY GOODNESS YOUR LITTLE ONE IS NEARLY HERE!! It's amazing. Keep well yourself, and little one too xxxx

PCOS / droopy boobies

Hey sasha Join the droopers I have been reading about boobs (as you can tell) and the things I read all seemed to agree that it's not breastfeeding that causes drooping but the fact that in pregnancy you put in weight and lose it again, usually fairly quickly. The pages I read said any other rapid weight gain/loss would do the same. I know that it doesn't help the drooping to know that but sometimes it's nice to understand these things anyway isn't it. I think Flic has the answer which is GOOD B...

So, who really manages to get 'five a day' down their toddler's neck?

This is an old post but I remembered it recently as my toddler, now 3.02 is still a bit fussy with fruit and veg. He loves apples, pears, bananas, grapes and peas but it's hit and miss with anything else. So I popped back to remember what everyone's tips were! My latest trick is squashing soft fruit through a sieve - he'll happily help me squish strawberries through a sieve with the back of a spoon then slurp up the juices even though he won't touch one if it's whole or sliced. Funny boy! I'm up...

beakers

We like straws too. And there's a really nice cup with soft spout by NUK that had the softness of a bottle teat but is free flow. We really rate the ubiquitous Tommee Tippee cup for out and about too - cheap, easy to clean and leakproof! We've got six on the go in our house!

PCOS / droopy boobies

I hope I'm posting in the best place - this is as much about boobs as PCOS... Anyone else have PCOS and droopy boobies?! I've always thought my boobs were not as perky as friends' / my sister's, ever since I was a teenager. I'm now 35. I'm currently a 30F so I guess size doesn't help these days either. Recently I was reading an article that a friend shared on Facebook about IGT (Insufficient Glandular Tissue) which can result in problems producing enough breast milk for a baby. I am thankful not...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi folks It has been ages! I thought I'd have missed so much in here I wouldn't manage to catch up but it looks as though it has been fairly quiet. Good to read all your updates. I really enjoy everyone's Facebook posts too - all those gorgeous little ones growing up all the time! Amy sounds like Scarlett is doing brilliantly - a strong woman in the making!! Tantrums can be tough can't they? In all my life I've never felt so flawed myself as when I've had to deal with the worst of ds1's irration...

How did you potty train?

Hello BB! I dont havr any advice, just following!!! Ds1 is still in nappies too (almost 3). Despite occasional encouragement he has never even piddled on the potty / toilet. I don't want to push him but I can't wait to stop paying for two lots of nappies. Life has just been too tricky up until now for all the accidents but I'm ready to give it a whirl some time soon, if he is! Xx

Amy, your poor Scarlett! Hope she's well on the mend. What a scare. Net, sounds like dd is getting on a little better - I'm so pleased for you both as its tough on you when she's unsettled. I bet you anything that as she gets over lurgies and teething - and of course starts to feel more at ease with nursery staff - she does better and better. What an odd choice of medium for her artwork... !!! We stayed at an inn called The Cat in West Hoathly. We've been there once before too. It's gorgeous! Th...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hello all! Lynsey congrats on becoming a mummy! How exciting to be getting to know your little boy. Net so sorry you're having nursery settling issues. My DS was a bit older when he started and it took him a couple of months to be content at drop-off, though less time to settle for most of the day. I'm sure as Lynsey says all kids are different and you just have to follow your instincts about whether the arrangement will suit her. I would say that if she is under the weather at the moment you mi...

WMG so glad to hear things picking up a little for your dad. Hope he gets all the care and support he needs for recovery. Good luck for your stitch! Great cake net! Happy birthday to you too We're doing ok. Just been told we have to wait another two months before we can see the neurosurgeon for ds2. So frustrating, just as the clinic date was getting close. It shouldn't affect the schedule for his care, but v frustrating to have longer to wait for questions. I feel like I'm really getting into t...

Oh WMG what a stressful and sad time, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Your poor Dad. Lots of prayers for him and all the family. What a terrible shock for you all. I know it will sound ridiculous but do please look after yourself. Get some early nights if you possibly can, to be gentle on you and baby. Good luck for your scan. Hugest hugs xxxx

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hello gang! How's everyone. Good to read latest updates on here and fb. WMG it's so brilliant you're 12 wks already and sporting a baby curve (not quite a bump yet!). Sasha, I'm so sorry to hear about your dh. As many other mamas in her know my dh has suffered a lot with depression lately. It was very serious last summer. A little better now but by no means mended. These things do usually take time to heal. It's good he is talking to you a little bit. It may also help I he talks to someone else ...

Another lovely summer baby. Good luck for the stitch when the time comes. Lots of love to everyone else too xxxx
