Glasgow Royal Infirmary - Treatment feedback and chat **NO PREGNANCY CHAT PLEASE**

Hi everyone, Hope you are all well. I haven't been around much as I've had loads of work and am even having to turn clients away at present! Lissy, just to say, I had lots of pain from EC for almost 3 weeks afterwards and also the pessaries give you crampy pains too. On the 2nd EC I had done, I took arnica for afew days before and the day after and I think I only needed 2 lots of Paracetamol after the procedure. That's you well into your first week of the dreaded 2ww so you are doing well. Sendi...

Shelly, I think you are doing really well considering what you have just been through. It is such a difficult time you are going through right now. It's good to hear you are positive and some good things to look forward to. Acupuncture is fab and really soothing and relaxing. It also has many properties for fertility treatment itself. I'm pleased you are going to get a chance to get away and enjoy yourself. Take care and we are always here, xxxx

Lightening, sometimes the waiting time can vary either way year on year as they allocate the buget for each year. So, sometimes it means you are taken slightly earlier or later. You may find that those who were taken after 6-8 months maybe counted their waiting time differently to you. You go on the waiting list automatically from when you are first referred by your local team so in our case, we were first referred in April 2006 and we were taken for treatment March/April 2008. Maybe these other...

Hi everyone, Glad to see everyone is geared up and getting ready. I am awaiting af so I can phone and see if they can book us in for this month. I am hoping to be able to phone in the next week all being well if af behaves and comes when she should. Obviously I was really late last time which is totally out of character for me, so I am hoping I don't have to wait that long this time. I'm going for more acupuncture tomorrow evening so am looking forward to that. I am just so desperate to get star...

I wouldn't recommend testing early but obviously that decision is up to you. As much as I wanted to, I didn't because I was worried that the HCG trigger shot might still be in my system giving rise to a false positive and at the other end of the spectrum, if you are pregnant, the levels might not be high enough just yet giving you a false negative. This next few days really tests your will, patience and sanity but please do hang in there and keep hopeful, xxxx

IUI @ GRI

I cannot comment on IUI as I had ICSI at GRI but I would believe similar would apply in that you join the waiting list from date first referred. Also it varies from health board to health board with regard to waiting times. I'm not sure but I think IUI is a shorter wait than IVF/ICSI. The latter is something you need to check out and I'm sure someone will be along to help you with this soon. Come join us on GRI thread, we are a nice friendly bunch. Hopefully you won't have too long a wait and I ...

Shelly, Please don't give up hope just yet. Many women including me had brown discharge and cramps and thought it was over. I know it is really hard but just hang in there and keep hoping as much as you can. I had the same symptoms at the very same stage as you too and it was ok. Remember we are all here if you need us,xxxx

Great news, Lissy! All the best for Thursday and please keep us posted. As for working Friday, I think you just need to play that one by ear. On my first EC, I was really tender for a good few days and the 2nd one I was really fine next day. Pain and discomfort aside, whenever you have sedation or anaesthetic of any description, they ask you to refrain from driving and operating machinery and also have a responsible adult with you for 24 hours afterwards. Hope this helps you to make your mind up...

We've learnt to roll!

I think most of us have this dilemma. i know I did and had to seek some reassurance. I learned on here and from my HV that if they roll over themselves it is ok. I know we are taught not to lay them down to sleep on their tummies and this is still the case but if they do it themselves it's different. Like you I worried and would get up several times a night and roll A back again, much to her annoyance alot of the time! On a positive note, it is lovely to see them do new things isn't it,xxxx

Have a great holiday, Sooz! Poppit, Hope bubs is being a good boy tonight,x Hope all you other ladies are all ok too, xxxx I just got out of hospital this morning after being an emergency admission with severe abdo pain on Sunday afternoon. Think it is related to my gallbladder op and may be something that I might get from time to time. Either that or it was a small stone which passed. Either way it was agony and I thought I was really unwell. I nearly collapsed in A&E. A friend is laughing at me...
