Which clinic? (near Bedford)

Can definately recommend Bourn. If anything good has come from having trouble conceiving it's being able to go to bourn - such a beautiful place - I love going there. My daughter is from a frozen cycle through Bourn.

Converting to a toddler bed and converting to duvets

my dd started launching herself out of her cot at around 17 months - so we went to kiddi care and she loved the peppa pig cot bed that was out on display. She got in it, pulled the cover over herself and tried to sleep in the shop. It was quite a task getting her out and away. We decided to get this bed as she loved it so much and all the bedding you can get with it. She already sleeps with a duvet in her cot and either sleeps with it on her or sleeps on top of it. This was about 1 and 1/2 month...

New to the site just wanted to say hi as an egg donor

Hi Jenna (my sisters name too lol) We're about to do an egg share cycle at Bourn Hall Cambridge. I'm pretty sure the most you would have to pay is about £650 for all the initial blood work etc and everything else is free. It's a great clinic. Not sure if it would be any quicker to get there than London, although I'd guess it would be. Emma

Hello!

Hi Angel Wings I'm pretty certain you would be able to have ICSI. DH had a similar count on one of our ICSI Cycles. Has you DF only been tested once? I expect a specialist will want to test 3 times as sperm count can go up and down. One of my DH counts was 0 point something million on one ICSI go and another one was 5 million (funnily enough it was the cycle with the lower count that we were successful ). As for whether it would be available to you on the NHS, unfortunately I don't think it woul...

We're trying again and I'm scared stiff!

Hi just a real quickly to say dh and I are in exactly the same boat as you. All your thoughts you stated in your first post are identical to what I have been thinking about and worrying about for months now. We actually tried another self funded cycle in feb/march and it was unsuccessful - 6k gone just like that. I vowed never to pay for it again as that was money that could have gone towards getting the DIY and decor etc done in our house or towards our 18 month old dd. we too are at the start ...

Does ICSI affect egg fertilization?

You definately have the chance to father a baby. We have a very healthy, over active, highly intelligent daugher born as a result of ICSI. They only pick the best looking swimmers for ICSI anyway.

Baby Girl names ARGHH

Hi not sure if it's too late to post if you've had your baby yet? I found choosing a girls name so hard - I gave up in the end and let DH choose. Funnily enough, towards the end I had settled on Eden too. Then, everywhere I looked there were signs that put me off it - the ne 'Eden' Channel was being launched on sky, our local shopping center suddenly had a new area called the Eden center. Then a friend of my DH had a baby and called it Eden. I was totally put off it (it's still a nice name thoug...

holidays!

Great stuff thanks both. Will have a look. Main annoying thing is cause I'm a teacher I can't ever find anything cheap in the holidays. Just want places for running around and soft play area and maybe a baby friendly pool. Thanks again for your suggestions x

holidays!

Have been trawling the internet for a good (cheap) place to go on holiday with our 14 month old. She loves running around, climbing on things and generally needs a lot of stimulation and entertainment. Any suggestions from any of you? Thanks

I had scans twice after my bfp's - both in the afternoons. They book you in when you're about 7 weeks I think. Congratulations

severe abdo pain

thanks girls for the advice. I held out and went for a scan today - everything in there is fine, I am booked in for egg collection on Friday. Woke up this morning with sickness and the other stuff, been sick all day and cramps have died down. Pretty sure it's the same bug that's been affecting my whole family lately (my 1 year old dd ended up in hospital 2 weeks ago with severe dehydration from a sickness bug ). Thought id better post this as I don't want anyone reading and getting scared if the...

severe abdo pain

Hi Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. I am on day 10 of stims today - 4 days ago my dose was put up from 225 to 300. This morning in the early hours I was awoken by severe abdominal pain, I was awful. At first I was worried it was appendicitis. I have been taking pain killers all day but they are only just taking the edge off the pain. It is really painful to sit, walk, touch. I did phone the emergency number for my clinic and when I spoke to the doctor, she said it was normal, t...

Do I really want to try again....

i've had the same thoughts as you but dh are already trying again - have started dregging and our daughter, who we conceived via FET is 1 in a few days. I feel really strongly about trying to give her a sibling, as when dh and i are dead and gone I want someone who will love her unconditionally, and who she will love unconditionally. I don't want her to be alone. I know she will have friends and may get married etc but what happens if they split up etc etc etc.

down reg day 1

Hi I wonder if anyone can help? I started down regging on day 1 of AF - I've always done day 21 in the past. Well I thought it was day 1, when I start I normally just start, I don't spot for a few days first. The problem is, my AF seems to have slowed and isn't starting as heavily as it normally does - now I'm worried I started taking the spray too soon - or could it be that taking the spray is slowing it down? Has anyone else had the same thing happen? Thanks Emma

one born every minute - literally!

Have been bothered ever since watching the program on Wednesday night (I love it btw). Can't stop feeling annoyed at that couple who were so smug at the fact that the the husband merely had to look at her and the wife would become pregnant (ok - so i'm just jealous) but the main thing was how disappointed they were that they'd had yet another girl. The camera caught her muttering, while looking down at her baby - 'I can't believe i've had another girl' in her disappointed tone. Then they had to ...

bourn hall waiting time

Hi all I've booked a consultation at Bourn Hall for February to discuss trying for my second child via ivf - obviously this will have to be done privately this time (yikes!). Does anyone know from recent experience what the waiting time is likely to be to start? I assume there is no difference in waiting time whether going privately or with nhs funding. I was hoping to start in the summer so it could be done during the holidays as i'm a teacher and don't want anyone to know this time. Thanks if ...
