Twins and elective c-section

Hi Cathy I also had obstectric cholestasis. My hopsital tried to induce me at 37w 2d twice but it didn't work so I asked for a c-section. They didn't seem too happy and asked if I would give induction another go but by then I was just desperate to get them out. The itching was unbearable and I had been in hospital for 5 days already with high blood pressure. To be honest I was petrified of labour and like you was worried I would end up with emergency c-section anyway. In the end I had a c-sectio...

Any tips for the first couple of weeks?

Hi Aramass You will by now be a Mummy so huge congratulations. I was the same as you but I had decided I would bottle feed formula as I could then get other people to help. Anyone that can breast feed twins is a super woman!! As for routine I thought I would get the the 3-4 hourly feeds sorted from day one but I am afraid it doesn't work like that, as in the early days they can only drink a small amount each timewell it didn't with my two. For the first 8 weeks we were basically feeding them eve...

very tight bump with twins?

Hi Not really got any advice for you I am afraid but just wanted to let you know I also felt like this. I think it is just the weight of the 2 babies stretching our bodies!!! All I can say is it is such a relief once they are out!!!

Night sweats at 32 weeks

Hi Living I didn't have the sweats during pregnancy but since having my little boys I am dripping every night and I mean saturated - sorry TMI. I am sleeping on a towel in bed to try and soak some of it up. I googled it and it said it was the body getting rid of the excess water we carry whilst pregnant and it is all hormone related - another undignified thing we have to go through!!! My doctor didn't seem to offer any advice only to say it must be your hormones - the times I have heard that!!!!...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Hi Kelly Was it a planned c section? Not originally. I was diagnosed with cholestasis and high blood pressure and they wanted to get the boys out while all was well. They tried to induce me twice which didn't work so I actually asked for the c secion which they agreed to. They agreed in the morning I signed the consent forms and they came and got me around 2.30ish in the afternoon how many weeks were you? 37 + 3 days How did you find the experience? I strangely quite enjoyed the experience When ...

Another newbie

Hi I can't comment on the sample I am afraid but can answer your questions about blocked tubes. I had blocked tubes with toxins in them which my clinic advised I get removed as they said the toxins can harm any potential pregnancy. I had this operation (very painless keyhole surgery) and as you can see from ticker IVF can and does work when you don't have tubes. Good luck

Double Bottle Warmers

Thanks for all the replies - I have decided to buy 2 fisher price travel bottle warmers from Mothercare. Not sure if they will be any good but thought I could leave them buy the bed at night to avoid having to go and boil kettle (God I sound so lazy already and I haven't even had the boys yet!!!) If they are no good for night feeds they will do for being out and about.

Double Bottle Warmers

Hello I wonder if anyone can help. Does anyone know where I can buy a double electric bottle warmer. I have looked on all the usual sites, Mothercare etc but all the ones I have found are for single bottles only. Rather than buy 2, I was wondering if anyone knew of a double one which heats 2 at once. Thanks Jo xxxx

PRAMS FOR TWINS

I have got the Obaby Zynergi Zoom Tandem with the carry cots and car seats to match. Not tried it with actual babies yet (few more weeks to go) but seems to be really good. The carry cots are also good if you go visiting as the babies can lay flat in them for however long you like rather than the recommended 2 hours for the car seats. Basically like travel cots. Once it is a buggy (from 6 months) the seats can face each other so your babies can see each other or one behind each other. Anyone int...

Starting Maternity Leave

Hi dheron - I actually finished a week ago as the doc signed me off as I have really bad swollen ankles and feet. So on 3 weeks sick leave then maternity starts 27th September. My bottom twin is currently breech so at the moment I am c section which they said they would do around the 37 weeks mark. Got another scan next week (33 weeks) to see if they have moved. I didn't want a c section at first but I have been watching loads of baby programmes and watching people go through labour and to be ho...
