Any tips for the first couple of weeks?

P.s - I know I won't (can't) demand feed my twins on my own. I will try and get them in a routine ASAP or I will be so tired that I will be no good to either of them. Talking to alot of multiple mums, they have all suggested a routine, otherwise you will be up at all different times during the day and night. It makes sense in my head now. Ask me in 2 weeks time and I may possibly think differently! As i said, one day at a time......

Any tips for the first couple of weeks?

Oh hon, You sound just like me!!! I could have written your post. My c-section is in 2 days and the closer it gets the more scared I am. I have no idea what I am doing!!!!! I can't wait to get rid of this uncomfortable feeling, but at the same time worried what exactly what will replace it.... As i have always said through the IVF process, take one day at a time. i think i may have to do that for the next 18 years also!! I'm trying not to have any expectations. I know I will be busy, especially ...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hey! I'm getting alot of braxton hicks, but I've been getting them since about week 22. Also getting some "stitch" like pain. I presume its just ligaments stretching. I'm uncomfortable but want to keep them in at the same time. The night is the worst. Can only sleep for about 45 mins at a time until i have to wake up, sit on side of bed then lie on other side. I'm in Brisbane, well slightly north of Brisbane. Hospital right in centre of brissy. Midwife just called me to reassure me that c-sectio...

Hi Guys! Yes Aramass, I'm still here! i don't think I've ever written in the 3rd tri. I am just so lazy. i know whats going on with everyone else though.... Some may know me, others may not. I've been around for a little while. Having B/G twins - due 7th Feb. Pregnancy has been ok. A bit up and down, but can't really complain. Had some bleeding at 26 weeks - in hospital. Cervix at 32 wks 12mm - in hospital again. Had 5 steroid shots for babies lungs. All ok now though. DH works in the UK, so awa...

When did you start to show?

Hey you! I'm (actually "was") 164cm and a size 8. I started a new job at 10 weeks and had to buy maternity clothes for that as everything was too tight. But I suppose I could still cover it up then. I think i started to show around week 13-14, but maybe cause I'm small framed. Oh, that seemed forever ago. DH was showing me photos tonight of what I used to look like. Man, I'll never have a belly like that again. But I wouldn't change a thing!! xxxx

Can a cycle of icsi cause my overies to be pco when they were not before? and can i get rid of it? worried!!

Hi there! I haven't been diagnosed with PCO, however I've been told I respond to stims like PCO do. I was put on Metformin for my second round, however then only got 2 eggs - long story. So, you can apparently not have PCO, but respond to stims like you do. I'd have a chat to your Dr when you can, that is the only way you will get the correct answer. Good luck and I'm sure all will be ok.

Breathless and Restless

Its only another year. There are plenty more to come. I was in bed at 8pm!! I thought orange juice was ok too, but when I was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks ago they said it was too acidic and you should avoid it. Vit C tablets are best. I haven't researched this or anything - just what Doc told me. Worth a try. Hope you are feeling better soon hon. Oh, and happy new year - this year will be fab!!!

Breathless and Restless

I know the feeling too well. Rest, rest and more rest. You will feel better for it. Also, if you are on iron tablets, take a vitamin C tablet with it to help it absorb. (Not orange juice though...) This is only temporary........i just keep telling myself that. All the best.

Average gestation period for Twins?

Make a list for your bag, and the babies bag. My bag was just the usual, toiletries, underwear, PJ's, maternity pads, nursing (breast) pads, camera, music, etc. I'm sure the girls have a list in the multiple section. I'll have a look for you. Its just easier for DH to grab the bag and go! The lady in the bed next door to me in hosp started contracting out of the blue at 31+5. Best to be prepared hon, then hope you don't need it!! I'll have a look for that link. xxxx

Cervix getting shorter - only 32 weeks!! Any advice?

HI! Just a quick update from me. I called the hospital and they said to come straight in. They admitted me for bed rest, monitoring and another loading of steroids. I'm now glad I called them. Now home and on bed rest. Keeping my legs closed until DH gets home on boxing day. I plan on having these babies mid jan!! p.s - asked about the progesterone. They said there is no evidence that it works. I would have preferred to have them anyway - I'll try anything!! But was happy I at least have the ste...

Average gestation period for Twins?

Hi there! Haven't had my little bundles of joy yet but sitting here with my legs tightly shut until my DH gets home on boxing day. Was just discharged from hospital with a short cervix (now 12mm), had steroids for the babies lungs etc. On bed rest. Luckily I have everything organised. Last week I was walking round "normal" just like you. Sometimes you can't plan these things. Is your bag packed? If not, pack it today hon!! I used mine at 26 and 32 weeks. And I agree with what others have said, y...

Cervix getting shorter - only 32 weeks!! Any advice?

Hi everyone! At 26 weeks I was admitted to hospital with some bleeding and at this time they noticed that my cervix was getting shorter - 26mm (from 36 from memory). I had steroids for the babies lungs at this time. I had my 32 week scan today (by the way, I'm having twins) and it is now only 12mm which has freaked me out a bit. My Dr's appointment isn't until Friday, and to be honest I don't really trust him, but have no choice but to stay with him. Have any of you lady's had a short cervix? If...

Chemical pregnancy at 2-3 weeks?

Hi Maggie! That is fantastic news. Just remember that every pregnancy is different and just because it happened once doesn't mean it will happen again. Try to enjoy this as much as you can, however from experience (and no matter how much I have told myself and others) it is true that the worry doesn't really stop from now on in. You'll have all your scans then the birth. Then there's worry right up until they are adults and beyond......... I'm very happy for you!!!

Chemical pregnancy at 2-3 weeks?

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. I completely understand why you are cautious at the moment. However, things are looking good from what I can tell. Is there any way that you can get HCG levels done? Can you ask your GP? This is the only thing that will really put your mind at ease. 2 levels 48hrs apart would let you know how your pregnancy is progressing. Wishing you all the luck in the world.
