Poss cause of infertility????

Gem, great to see you so happy I'd love to donate my eggies but unfortunately mine weren't quite up to the job, you are amazing! Will keep in touch, promise. Grace, thanks for the reply hun, it's interesting that we both had similar experiences with one medical miracle and one natural miracle I was always a bit curious why we struggled but it was either pay for investigations or pay for tx as couldn't afford both (damn postcode lottery). I don't suppose it matters now but still feel for everybod...

the things that make you smile

Quoted from "ALI BIRD" Wills sat in his playpen this afternoon playing with his cars while I cooked tea and Vinnie (very large German Pointer) lay next to it and Will spent 10 minutes stroking him through the bars making 'ahh' noises. I would like to say that Charlotte is as gentle as William was but yesterday she rammed him repeatedly with her push along walker until he sighed, got up and lay under the table in safety

Poss cause of infertility????

Hey ya'll it's been an age since I have posted here, although I still pop in now and again to see how my few remaining old friends are doing. For some reason, recently I have been thinking about the births of my two beautiful children and the slight complication during their births and was wondering if this could have been related to my unexplained infertility. After 4 years of TTC we had our first cycle of IVF which was succesfull, during the birth of my son it was a long hard labour and after ...

Top 15 songs to soothe baby

I know, and the louder it is the more effective it is DH thinks it's because we went to see them live during both of my pg's, I just think it's the beat.

Top 15 songs to soothe baby

Both of mine are INSTANTLY settled by Foo Fighters 'Pretender' At first we noticed that when it was on in the car Will would go to sleep, we tried various other artists and tunes but The Foo's worked 100% of the time, even when he was very upset. We used it so much so that the cd became unplayable so when Charlotte was born we bought another copy and wouldn't you know it, she reacts exactly the same. It must be the beat or something but it is working without fail again. Foo's

Newborn not sleeping between 10pm and 4am

I agree with Grace, perserverence is the key. Char would not settle between 9pm and 12am at first but I was determined to get her bed time at 7pm, it took about 2 weeks of sitting in her room all evening trying to settle her but it gradualy got earlier and earlier and she now goes down at 7pm and sleeps for between 8 and 10 hours. I bf on demand so am unsure about when and how much to bottle feed but I am convinced that they will set their own routines and with both of mine I have just gone with...

Just a quickie as attempting to get them both dressed and out by 10 Charlotte has slept from between 8 and 10 hours uninteruped for the past week. Last night was the best as she went from 8.30pm to 6.30am. It looks like she has cracked it, I am so proud of my clever little girl Love to you all

Help re napping when you have a baby and a toddler

Congratulations on the birth of your little boy. Grace, I can honestly say that I could have written this post Will is a bit older than J but we are facing the same issues, Will has no naps now either so ther is no respite at all. Charlottes main sleep is straight after her first feed when she has 2 hours so I usualy manage to get her down before Will gets up then that seems to set her up for the day. Although today the builders next door put paid to that so a nightmare morning was had . She wil...

Daily Routines, The Witching Hour and Sleep.

Glad I aren't the only one who struggles with a dog. We have a beautiful German Short Haired Pointer called Vinnie, he is an absolute star but much like labs, he is full of beans and needs a lot of walking and exorcise. I am struggling to walk him atm when it rains as we have a phil and ted push chair but William is so tall that the rain cover wont go over his head as he sits high up while charlotte lies flat underneath. I really enjoy taking vinnie out as it gets us all out in the fresh air and...

Daily Routines, The Witching Hour and Sleep.

I have been keeping an eye on this thread for a few weeks now but every time that I try to post, something disturbs me. I am loving to read about all of your ideas, routines etc as even though we have done it all before, a different baby means a different personality. Charlotte is actually doing really well, her nightime routine that she has set herself is bed at 9pm, up at 2-3 for 45 minutes then back down until 7-8am then she goes back to sleep for another hour or so, The only problem is that ...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Congratulations Stace and Anna, glad all went well and your little ones are safe and sound. Anna, I feel for you with the bf struggle, we had the same with Will and had to hand express with a seringe for the first few days but once he was a little less sleepy, he was fine and it was the best thing ever. If however it becomes a struggle and you feel that a bottle would be best for both you and Molly, please don't beat yourself up as you have to do what is best for your family. glad everybody else...

Mary, just a quickie re SPD. I had it quite bad this time and though I struggled to walk through the latter part of my pg, when I was in labour I just wanted to walk up and down and did so throughout the labour until my waters broke then I climbed onto the bed, got on my knees, hung over the back of the bed and Charlotte was out within 10 minutes. The SPD pain went almost immediately after giving birth and it is so nice now to be able to get about again. I know it isn't like this for everybody b...

Daily Routines, The Witching Hour and Sleep.

I read through this thread yesterday but didn't have time to post, Charlotte will let me send this one Hoping, when Will was about 7 weeks old I was still doing the dream feed and a friend asked why I was waking him up as he would tell me if he was hungry (I was bf on demand so slightly different circumstances to you) so one night I left him and lo and behold he slept through from 7.30 to 7.30. I thaught it must have been a fluke but the same thing happened the next night and the next and I neve...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hey everybody, I have popped a brief note in the birth arrivals and things are a little hectic and the moment, I promise to do personals when I have more time. Charlotte Anne was born Saturday 10th @ 6.53pm after a straight forward labour using TENS and gas and air. She is beautiful. I can honestly say that I am gobsmacked as I was convinced that it was a boy but feel very privaledged to have one of each. Will loves his little sister and keeps stroking her and kissing her but he is a bit heavy h...

Well, it seems that I might have spoken too soon, contractions started at 3am but very mild and irregular so managed to sleep inbetween (would you believe the best nights sleep I have had in ages), then felt wet at about 6am so went to the bathroom and lost my plug. Since then the contractions seem to be getting closer and stronger, they are about every 10 minutes but are only lasting for about 30 seconds and are very managable so I have cooked us all a nice breakfast, DH has just taken the dog ...

Stace, what a fab mural, it must be fab to have a talent like that. Don't beat yourself up about having a lazy day, you will still be in your pjs all day after the baby is here but not for laziness so it's time to make the most of it Glad you like your push chair, I remember putting a teddy in ours and pushing it around the house KJ, hope you enjoy centre parks, even though it is work. While the rest of them are having their activities you should try to sneak off for a swim or a pamper Cath, hop...

Have just had a call from the shop whhere I have ordered the cot bed from, I ordered it 4 weeks ago as they said they could get it the following week. It didn't show and they then said that the suppliers should get it by 25th Aug so I left it until now to chase it up and they have now said that it will not be at the suppliers until 14th Sept so won't even be with them until a week later. I know it's not that important as LO will be in the moses basket for the first few weeks at least anyway but...

Liz, fab picture sweetie, you must be totaly besotted. Lovin the leaking all over baby comment, I remember it well, good breast pads are a must Hoping, yes the scar tissue was from DS1 who is 2.5 now, it is fine now but while I am trying to massage, while the rest just stings my scar tissue feels painful. I asked my mw about the likelihood of having to have another episiotomy this time and she says there is no reason that I should so . I have a friend who had a bad experience with her scar as th...

Loz, glad everything is going well and that Harrison is sleeping so well. Please don't beat yourself up about bf, I think that as long as mummy is happy then baby is happy, whichever feeding method is used and he is obviously thriving on it I think it took about 4-6 weeks for my cut to heal but it got easier and easier every day. I have been trying to do the perineal massage but the scar tissue already there is very painful to do, I have asked DH to do it for me but he is quite reluctant, WTF! h...
