9 weeks, expecting twins, in excruciating pain and bleeding.

Hi there I'm sorry you are having this nightmare. Yes, bleeding is common in early pregnancy but your Doctor should be taking this a lot more seriously than he did. I'm hoping your midwife will take you a lot more seriously. I really think you need to go and get a scan asap to put your mind at rest. x

antenatal classes for twins - regular classes or ones for multiples?

I just did the tamba one which was really good. It's just a days course and it covers early parenting as well. I found it really helpful, nice and short (so male friendly!) and I'm also still in touch with the other twin mums. Giving birth wasn't covered in depth but I preferred it that way, especially as a C section was on the cards by the time I finally got round to doing an ante natal course.

Documentary "Meet the multiples" on tonight @ 9pm BBC3

This programme made me laugh and it also made me feel so much better. A few months back if I'd seen that mum giving her five year old a dummy and her kids plates of chips I might have been a bit judgemental. AFter coping with two for the last 14 weeks I now think that woman is a Saint.

Routines. Advice needed please.

The conflicting advice is a nightmare isn't it Geordie!! I was told however by a twin mum to go with the flow as much as possible as it'll just be more stressful if not so today we are routine free and they are napping and feeding on demand and I feel I'm giong to be paying the price later! We'll get there in the end I"m sure. We have to just remember they are still very little. Gen (my windy feeder) is on the Dr Browns Bottles but is now so slow she falls asleep and then wants feeding an hour l...

scans: how often in late twin pregnancy?

Hi there I was scanned once a month from 20 weeks and was told my last scan would be at 35 weeks (I delivered at 36 weeks) Like Duffy says, it does vary but every 4 weeks tends to be the norm. If one of your twins is below normal size than i am surprised they aren't scanning you again unless both twins are a reasonable size. It's quite normal for one to be bigger than the other and this isn't a cause for concern unless one is noticeably small. Good luck. x

newbie unexplained ?

Hi there I wasn't trying as long as you (3 years) but I had unexplained infertility and all our results were really good but a fat lot of good that did us when it came to trying to conceive naturally. I had IVF last year and it worked first time. Lots of luck to you. Often it does just take someone to put the eggs and sperm in the right place and in the right conditions. x

Broody - What the *#&S%?!?

I wasn't until I saw the photo of your beautiful child Alexandra! She is utterly divine! Then I saw the photos of all the other babies on this thread and have decided that yes, I am broody. I've also been having bump envy, despite hating being pregnant at the time.

Twins and elective c-section

I had an elective c section that ended up being emergency. I was encouraged to go for an elective after 38 weeks and the consultant was being quite sniffy about me wanting a c section, despite the fact that twin 2 was breech. He also wanted me to hang on until 38 weeks. I ended up being diagnosed with pre-enclampsia at 36+5 when I went in for my pre op and was sectioned the next day. I can honestly say this was a brilliant way to birth as like Mrs C, birth felt like a means to an end, I just wan...

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Ha ha! Sleep? NO. When one is asleep the other is awake. My nights consist of the odd snatched half hour and work out in total about 4 hours. It's really hard and I hope it gets better soon. Luckily I have my mum here at the moment and it's such a saviour.

Routines. Advice needed please.

Hello everyone My twin girls are now exactly a month old today. My scrambled, sleep deprived head can't fix my ticker though! I'd love advice about routines. For the last month everything has been on demand and we haven't had any routine at all except I've tried implementing bath time this week and putting them to bed in the evenings in their bedroom so that they can begin to differentiate between night and day. I'm not breast feeding but am expressing/formula feeding so it's been quite tough. G...

Any tips for the first couple of weeks?

Thanks again ladies. This is such brilliant advice. I love it. It's made me feel slightly more confident. Thanks for finding the time to do this. Duffymoon: YOur advice on feeding is really informative. When you say bottle fed, do you mean formula or expressed? I'm confused by what 'bottle fed' actually means. I'm very relieved by you saying that they can do both breast and bottle.

Geordie: I totally feel your pain I really do being an SPD sufferer pregnant with twins myself. It's rubbish. You made me laugh though as I cried over not being able to put my shoes on! Like a pathetic little child! Just remember your hormones are all over the place at these stage and you've got double so forgive yourself for blubbing and do whatever it takes to make your life easier. Keep those feet up as much as you can and keep wiggling them about. My legs are ok but I've got carpal tunnel sy...
