Why do you feel she needs a fancier one? My daughter has had cheap baby twin dolls since she was a year old (now just over 2 1/2) and seems perfectly content with these. her imagination is good enough to pretend they are crying, need feeding, need their nappies changing, are too hot/cold, etc without the dolls actually needing to do any of these things.
Hi and welcome to FZ. Sorry to hear of your losses. I just wondered, has your wife had the recurrent miscarriage blood tests? The results of these would be more significant in terms of what may be an underlying cause of miscarriage than FSH or LH results. xx
pretty sure there's an HCG thread in the frequently asked questions section that has some figures. good luck x
I've been where you are now....thankfully I now have a wonderful 2.5 yr old daughter and am 31 weeks pregnant with my second. Before that I tried for 2 years to conceive and then, when I did conceive, suffered 4 miscarraiages over another 2 year period. My advice, like the others say, is to get an early scan even if you have to pay for it. Obviously it won;t change the outcome but if it is sad news it might give you a little more information about what is going on which might help in the future...
That sounds rubbish. I had four 2 hours sessions from the NHS and also did the NCT classes (as a second-time mum the NHS are now offering me an afternoon refresher class). I thoroughly enjoyed both sets and got a different perspective from each. Contrary to curlytails I found the information invaluable when it came to the birth...mine was 36 hours with lots of twists and turns and without the knowledge I gained from the classes I am not sure I would have been able to ask the questions I did, fee...
my advice is to forget the lovely outfits and pop a cheap supermarket t-shirt over them at feeding time. Leave the precious outfits and clothes for when they are older. martha has always sat on her Tripp Trapp without any cushioning - I really can;t be bothered with the effort of cleaning that as well as everything else. Buy the big tabards meant for older children to paint in for feeding time as well. otherwise sunshine and a soak in good old fashioned soda crystals works well.
m loved the megabloks. she had a bounce and spin zebra and did like it but not as much use for the size. Does he have a smarttrike? M got one for her Xmas just before she was 1 and loved going in that until a couple of months ago (she's 2.5 now) when she started scooting by herself.
I'm not an immunie, but do take aspirin due to 4 miscarriages. Last time my consultant stopped my aspirin at 36 weeks. Expectation was that I would go to 40 week (which I did), so 4 weeks before due date. They have said will be the same this time. Your Dr should advise, give them a call.
BGE - do you mean the techno xt? really good pushchair and I liked it but was pricey for what I needed it for as already had city mini for everyday use. AG - if you don't need it to fully recline or to go off-road then I would check out the Maclaren Quest. Honestly depends how much you want to use it. Similar to Maclarens but cheaper are models like the Jane Sonic (which I have) and an OBaby one whose model escapes me!
I know a couple of people who had a Petite Star and ditched them pretty quickly in favour of a Maclaren.
I have a baby jogger city mini and love it for everyday use but also have a smaller lighter pushchair which is a Jane Sonic. As M has got older I have used this one more and more as she walks most of the time but occasionally wants to jump in if her legs are a bit tired. Totally depends on what you want to use it for but if you still have one that you will be using for main use then I wouldn't buy the baby jogger one but go for something smaller and cheaper.
yes, yellow! quoted from the NHS page above: "What’s normal? Typical vaginal discharge does not smell and does not cause any irritation. It’s quite likely that you won’t even know you have any discharge until you see some in your underwear. It is usually clear or creamy in colour. Sometimes there may be a slight yellow tint to it."
never had one, never saw the point! My baby looked cute enough by herself without any added frippery
yes, normal. Used to be a few threads on this but can't find them now! Anyway, check out this nhs page to reassure yourself: NHS Direct - Vaginal discharge stop worrying!! xx
Don't make a fuss is my advice. Often this isn't just about picky eating but how hungry they are, hence one day they gobble something down that the next day they don't touch. Some days M doesn't stop eating, some days she hardly has anything. Even when they are old enough to reason with, doesn't mean that getting them to eat what you want to do is going to get any easier....often harder! personally I think breakfast is as important as any other meal so if she is eating that I wouldn't worry. I h...
Hi Ladies, Just wondered if anyone has one of these and if they would recommend it? A's parents buy all of their grandchildren a Tripp Trapp as a gift, usually when about to start weaning. However, I saw the newborn set on a website the other day and thought it might be nice to get the chair and one of these as soon as new baby arrives so they can 'join' us at the table. Any comments from those in the knowm much appreciated
As M's nighttime bottle was more of a comfort than anything else I bought a 'special big girl' cup for her. It wasn't the easiest to get her to drop it but by that time, being a bit older, of course, she was speaking so we could rationalise better with her. Other than that I never used a different cup for milk or water. As for the germs, well, the bottle and teat were always cleaned in the dishwasher and then went straight up to her room with her milk in. Again, when they start walking around yo...
sorry to hear of your pain. are you eligible for recurrent miscarriage tests at all? I'm not sure of the 'rules' these days as I had my miscarriages before delivering my daughter. It may be that something as simple as a blood thinning drug could help you. very best of luck xxx
Didn't see the mail but did hear about the research on the radio and it is here in a telegraph article: 'Birth defect link' to IVF injections - Telegraph Would want to read the full methodology of the research before 'believing' the outcome. Also not sure what exactly counts as a birth defect in the study and if they are rating htat in severity.
M still had an afternoon bottle until she was about 14 months. She had her bottle at nighttime until she was nearly two (we moved house twice in a short period so I didn;t feel ready to force her to give it up as she had been disrupted a lot). As long as teeth are cleaned and they aren;t 'hanging' on to it all day long my dentist didn;t see it as an issue.
