Low Dose Aspirin in Pregnancy...is it OK?

Ah well, I have changed my mind again and decided not to take the aspirin and I will talk to the doc in a couple weeks time about it. If the main reason he has put me on aspirin is to prevent miscarriage then I am going to not take it as I am already taking progesterone. And seeing that I can't find much on the prevention of IUGR with aspirin, I am not going to risk taking it! Thanks everyone for all your answers. x

Low Dose Aspirin in Pregnancy...is it OK?

Hi Eeyore and Bubble! Sorry haven't been around much, who knew having a baby was so much work?! And now that we are living in the desert, well it presents a few other challenges and there never seems to be enough time! Thanks ladies for your responses. I must admit, I am still a bit confused. There does seem to be a fair bit on low dose aspirin as being ok. It is a tough one as you want to do anything possible not to miscarry, but you also don't want to do anything to hurt the baby. From what I ...

Low Dose Aspirin in Pregnancy...is it OK?

Hi Everyone, I hope you don't mind me posting here - it has been a while since I have had tx and I have just found out that I am 5 weeks preg (natural BFP which is a miracle!).... I have been prescribed low dose aspirin to try and prevent miscarriage and my doctor said that it can also help prevent growth restriction (my daughter had IUGR) and pre eclampsia. I am not a fan of taking anything in pregnancy and I have done some research and have read conflicting information. I am currently living i...

3 More sleeps

Hi Debs, I had a planned section and I was totally freaked out too! Try not to worry, it will all be very calm, planned and controlled. The consultants doing the op were chatting to us and to themselves about their diaries, etc. I think the worst part was the spinal block, but I think that was also the part I was least looking forward to. And the catheter wasn't really an issue since I was numb by then! Feel free to PM me if youo want to chat some more. x

colour of poo changed

Hiya - Izzy is BF and formula fed and her poos changed like this too. The green ones were pretty crazy! At about 8 weeks she also stopped going everyday which was odd, but totally fine. As long as they are not black ans pellet like (signs of dehydration), then you should be ok! x

Overheated!!

Yup - mine is not a happy little bunny either. We were camping last week when the weather got hot and we actually had to come back early (and drive back at night) because she was getting so hot. We now hide indoors until the sun starts to go down! What is worse is that she is not feeding so well during the day and now she is up more at night and wanting to feed! Argh!

Maxi Cosi Car seat!

The easybase is just a base and won't 'plug into' the isofix. Technically speaking, you can use that in any car because the isofix is buried in behind the seat. If you want to use a base in the Audi, you can buy any of them, however you can buy that easyfix base and it will plug into the isofix system. So, easybase for any car, easyfix for isofix cars only!

Maxi Cosi Car seat!

Hi Sarah, We bought the maxi cosi car seat that was part of the quinny buzz. We also bought the easy fix base as we have a Subaru and it has the isofix. However, we cannot use the base until baby is 3 months as it makes the car seat too upright!! You could alway buy the base and put it in one car and then use the old fashioned way of securing the car seat with the seat belts for the other!

the pill

Hi Kar - yep, the pill pumps you full of hormones and you can get really emotional! I found that once your body gets used to it (after a month or so) it isn't quite as bad.

haemoglobin level

Tatiana it is TOTALLY normal for your iron levels to drop in pregnancy! Your body is producing loads of extra blood and baby is demanding its share too. Your levels might be a bit low which is why they have told you to eat more iron rich foods and haven't told you to supplement! There are girls at my NCT class that have been prescribed massive amounts of supplemental iron! x

haemoglobin level

Hi Tatiana, I think if your levels are low, they are only just low. Something is making me think that they should be 11, but I have no idea where I pulled that from. My last ones were 12.8 (I think) and the midwife said that was great and was better than hers! I am a vegetarian, so not sure how my levels are so good, but like you I take pregnacare daily and I eat healthily. Make sure that you are eating well, dried fruit is good (apricots, raisins) and fortified cereals. I checked out my Shreddi...

Antenatal Classes

We opted for the NCT classes as the NHS one was only a one day workshop. By seeing the other couples every week you become good friends and I am sure when we are all on mat leave and have our babies it will be a good support group and good to know other mum's who live near you!

help! headache

Paracetemol is fine to take as long as you take the recommended dose. I had two really bad colds earlier on in my pregnancy and I remember calling NHS direct in tears because I felt awful and I had only taken the occasional Paracetemol. The nurse said it was absolutely fine.... Hope you feel better soon!

Mothercare baby carrier is rubbish!!

Michelle - is the babasling a brand name? I want to buy a sling, but don't know which one to buy. Someone at work gave me some sort of carrier, but I still fancy a sling! And I would LOVE to see the persons face when you bring back that sick covered carrier!

Has anyone got a DH like this?

No sex for me either. DH was so scared to come near me in the first 12 weeks in case it caused a miscarriage. Now he just seems to have some sort of a mental block about sex. We still cuddle, but there is no sexual type contact whatsoever. I have asked him if it is because he finds me unattractive, and he says it is not that at all. From what I gather, it freaks him out a bit to think that there is a baby in there and he is going to poke it and that things are just a little bit different. I know...
