icsi-egg collection

Hi I had ICSI in 2005. I ended up with 7 eggs, however only 5 were good enough to be injected and only 2 fertilised. I ended up with 1 embryo. I had this put in and it resulted in my gorgeous daughter who is now almost 5. Please don't worry yourself. Anything can happen. ICSI, or any fertility treatment is a miracle journey and when you think things are all over the most amazing things can happen. Stay positive and I wish you all the luck in the world

Cot Bumpers?!?!?!

When I had my daughter almost 5 yrs ago, cot bumpers were a big no no. But they still sell them in the shops and people use them, it states in Mothercare they are suitable from birth so I am a little confused. I wondered what your thoughts are on cot bumpers??? I am having my twins in a few weeks and am putting them both in 1 cot together for a few months until they go into their own nursery and I think the bumpers look lovely but wondered what you all think about them and if it is a yay or nay ...

Twins and elective c-section

I too am having elective c section with my twins on 19th May. I am quite scared about it. I think it is really the unknown. I have been assured that it is what is best for the babies due to difficulties that can arise in ID twin deliveries. Sooooo nervous but excited at the same time x

Hi Chilli, of course I remember you. Everytime I go to Bluewater I think about that meet up. Thank you, I am shocked still that I am having twins lol. But very happy obviously. You have 2 girls now, congrats - and another on the way. How lovely to have a boy on the way. I kind of hoped the twins would be boys but I am happy with whatever. I love pink haha. Good luck with your blue pregnancy, it's great news x

Gestational diabetes.... low BP & low iron level!!!!!! Feeling shattered x

Hi Grace, the move was horrendous and really took it out of me! I am just recovering although I now have a bump belt. I didn't do much but it was just so stressful. I saw the diabetic midwife who advised me that stress can increase my blood sugar levels so that may also have added to the higher readings! The readings do seem to have gone back down again to below 7, with the odd 7.8 or 7.9 scattered about. Usually after I have had shreddies for breakfast. How exciting Caz, 2 weeks! I can't wait n...

Gestational diabetes.... low BP & low iron level!!!!!! Feeling shattered x

Thanks girls. I went out for a curry last night as we are in the process of moving home so apart from being too tired to cook, the freezer was being de-frosted so I didn't say no to the suggestion of eating out!! lol take the opportunity while I can. Anyway, I had a curry and I did have a chocolate icecream after too, my BSL was 8.9!!!! Shocking, but to be expected!! Today I had beans on toast for lunch and my BSL was 8.3???? Gob smacked, didn't expect it to be that high! I had been doing so wel...

Gestational diabetes.... low BP & low iron level!!!!!! Feeling shattered x

Thanks girls. The GD seems to be going alright at the moment. yesterday I managed to keep levels below 6.0 apart from after dinner which was 7.7 but still within the levels I have to keep to. I am gradually able to work out what foods push my BS levels up so can just avoid them, it is trial and error really isn't it. Re my iron levels, I have been told to use something called SpaTone. It is liquid sachets and by using them you maintain more iron from them than you do from taking the tablets, app...

Thanks Kirstin, I didn't know if I should be concerned as it is happening everyday and is very uncomfortable. As I never had them with Chloe I wasn't 100% x

Gestational diabetes.... low BP & low iron level!!!!!! Feeling shattered x

I found out this week that I have got very low blood pressure (not sure what to do to help that) and I have a very low iron level so I have pills for that (although I am taking spa tone sachets instead) and also my Blood sugar level is high so am in the bracket for GD!!! So I am now testing my blood 4 times a day and cutting out on sweet stuff which is very hard for me. Anyone else had these issues? xxx

Braxton hicks, every day, most of the day!

Thanks Peppa. To be honest I haven't seen my midwife for a while because I was having scans every 2 weeks at Kings College Hospital. But had been thinking today that I should go to see her as I haven't had my urine tested or anything else and Braxton Hicks feelings are so regular. I think I will call her now to make an appointment to go and see her xxx

Braxton hicks, every day, most of the day!

Is it normal to get what I am assuming is Braxton Hicks so much in a day, every day??? At first I thought it was babies pushing outwards, I never had BH with my first pregnancy but I have been told that it is Braxton Hicks. Help??!?!?!?

I'm new and about to have my first egg collection

Hi, I had ICSI back in 2005 which was my first attempt and resulted in a BFP and a gorgeous daughter. I had 7 eggs harvested and 3 of them were fertilised. But only 1 of them pulled through. Sounds tragic and I thought it was the end for me BUT..... this one little embryo attached and I now have a gorgeous 4 yr old daughter who is a strong and amazing little girl. My point is that you don't need lots of eggs etc to get a positive result. I really thought I had been unlucky but not the case. My o...

The pregnancy is going well so far. I had to have scans at Kings College Hospital every 2 weeks from week 16 due to the risk of TTTS so that was a bit scary and difficult as it was a loooong day with the travelling and their delays. But reassuring after the scans that all was ok and there were no problems. But as I am 26 weeks now and the risk level is much lower, I have been discharged and will continue with 2 weekly scans at my local hospital. I am having to have a c-section on 19th May due to...
