Intralipids when having tx abroad

Hi Claire, Serum are very used to this, just speak to Penny and ask her, I think it is pretty straight forward to get a prescription that Healthcare at Home will accept. I have recently become an Auntie care of Serum and have heard great things. I wish you lots of luck x

Tantrums? At 11months old.

The same happened to us. I was told to make sure I communicate lots with my DS and tell him when I was going to take him away from a situation or toy and not just do it, as you would if they were much older. They understand so much by this age. It didn't stop but did help a little. Good luck xx

Prams for a toddler and newborn? What did you do?

Hi, I went for a City Mini GT Double and LOVE it (I have a 17 month old and a newborn). I didn't want a side by side at first, but really didn't like the weight or length of the City Select and didn't like the idea of one being below the other in the P&T. We fit everywhere and it is so easy to fold and a dream to push. It also has large seats so can hold a toddler till they are quite big and the seats recline fully for napping. I also looked at the duet, but the seats were narrow and my eldest a...

10wks being told bloods suggest IVIG but I don't want it eeeek!

Bless you, the stress never stops...Lets hope that intralipids will be fine, remember that Dr Gorgy is quite extreme with his medication compared to some other clinics, where they only do intralipids and no IVIG, LIT etc. I had a similar issue with him, as my blood suggesting I should have LIT around 14 weeks and we made the decision we had to draw the line somewhere and all was fine, but I did panic for a few weeks. I carried on with intralipids till 30 weeks, but in my current pregnancy I stop...

NEW PARENT CHAT THREAD

Hi Lovely mummies, Just listening in as I am due my 2nd in 2 months...Bless you all having BF issues. I had a total nightmare with my DS. I thought it would be so natural to BF, but for me and my little one it wasn't. We had major weight loss, top ups with formula, stress from my DH and the HV to FF, baby blues were very high, due to stress of it all and lack of sleep, but I stuck with it. Don't worry if it doesn't work out for you, there is lot of pressure out there to BF and yes it is handy an...

Anyone had a Caesarean section at The Portland?

Hi, I ended up with an emergency section at the Portland, but everything went very well and I felt like I was in very good hands. My consultant was Paul Armstrong, he was very calm and professional, just what I needed. I saw him throughout my pregnancy for check ups. There are lots to choose from so have a look around, you can get a list off their website and start contacting people. I was surprised how quickly some consultants got full. Good luck, everything is lovely there. xxx

Strollers - Lightweight Prams? What do you use?

Hi I also have the maclaren techno XT and love it, we travel lots and it has been on over 30 flights in the first year and is doing well. My ds loves it, almost more than his other pram!! It has a great recline and so he sleep well in it. Just come back from holidays and he happily slept in it on the beach and out at night. I think it is useful to get one with a good recline if you want to use it for naps. It's not the smallest, but the wheel size means it can handle off road ok and has front su...

Anyone hoping for a VBAC?

I am hoping to (I'm now 24 weeks) and my hospital are being supportive and say I will be monitored very closely, but I am still worried and my DH thinks a section would be better, so we can plan more. Last time I was lucky and recovered really quickly, but you never know and as my DS will only be 17months when the new one is born, it will be hard to carry him My DS was born by emergency C-section due to fetal distress, so all very traumatic. If you look around there are lots of stories out there...

I've finally stopped!

Well done you, such an amazing thing you have done for Freya. I stopped BF as soon as I found out I was pregnant again, as I wanted to give my boobs a break!!! It does feel weird to stop, but lets hope she settles well every night. I remember after 1 week any sad feelings had gone. As you are such an expert lets hope it goes well with your new baby I am really worried about a new one, as I'm not sure I'll have the time to do quiet hour long BF as my DS isn't at nursery

PRAMS FOR TWINS

I am really interested in all this chat, I am expecting my second and will have 17months between them. I loved the city select but having seen the donkey I am now confused. My only real negative is the size the donkey folds down to, we have a big car but we tried it and it still took up all the boot, the select is far more compact. Also the folding of the donkey is not that simple, having been there with ds, I know it is important to get pram in the car quickly and get going pronto. But the donk...

Feeding non-stop since birth - help!

Congratulations...just wanted to add my experience. My little man was like yours and after a few weeks we found out he was slightly tongue tied, so we got that sorted but the constant feeding didn't really change. I then paid to see a private midwife who just said some babies like to snack more than have a meal and also to comfort suck and maybe I should be more strict. Basically she suggested more of a routine approach than demand feeding, which I was totally against but needed to try something...

** FIRST TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hi Shelley, please try not to worry too much. I bled throughout my pregnancy and it had a happy ending, I know it is tough but lots of woman do bleed and go on to have healthy little ones. I see you are on clexane, if you are still taking this I was told as it is a blood thinner it can make even a small bleed look scary. I am sure all will be fine and it is great you can get checked out quickly, best of luck and try not blame yourself I am sure the bleeding would have happened either way. My doc...

Prams - Help!

Hi, I have a Jane Rider and love it, it folds easily, is compact and my babe loves it. The strata car seat is excellent and is a single hand release to remove from the pram, soooo easy. Worth a look. Good Luck

7 month old refusing the breast :(

I hope someone can offer some advice. I have exclusive BF my little boy for 7 months, but in the last 2 weeks he has got very frustrated with feeds, feeding has gone from a relaxing time to a fight with tears on both sides. I had hoped to BF till he was 1yrs. I think since he stopped night feeds my milk has reduced lots, so maybe he is frustrated by that. I have done 2 days of feeding as much as I can, but he is so uninterested and cries if I only give him a small amount of solids, he wants more...

Hi Ladies, Not been on for ages, so much has happened. It's so exciting on here. Scoffs I hope your BP comes down. Love to everyone else and your bumps xxx

** THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT **

Hi Caz, I've had a cold for 4 weeks, including a cough, it's been soooo annoying, as I have felt great besides that. I was told there was nothing I could take and even went to doc to see if maybe I had an infection as I would have been happy to take some antibiotics if needed, but sadly no. Hot lemon and honey can help, I also did some steams with one drop of olbas oil in, this did help clear my head a little. Drinking lots of water also helps, but it is so hard. Normally I'd have lemsips or sud...
