Thanks for the positive feedback regarding FET at GRI

Quoted from "TRYINGAGAIN2012" Hi Claire/ Trying again, thanks for the positive feedback, yours is probably the only success story I have heard. All friends, colleagues , whoever has had their treatment done at GRI have not reported success and no case at all where FET worked, so it is good to know that it really worked for you. How many attempts did it take and did you do something special on the time that it worked. We got Dr Lyall last time and she is supposed to be really good so we were rea...

Has anyone had a successful frozen embryo transfer (FET) at GRI ?

Hi all, This is going to be our third FET cycle ( never had a fresh transfer due to OHSS) and I have absolutely no hope that it will work. The whole cycle lasts 3 months only to put one blastocyst in and that does not take! After doing it all 2 times, I am starting to wonder if it is actually the clinic or is it me. I have been pregnant before but it was an ectopic, but I know that there was a heartbeat in the ectopic so everything works but we were really unlucky that time. I am so frustrated w...

No AF, 13 days after Prostap for a constructed FET

Hi everyone, I am panicking as my AF is not showing any signs of coming 13 days after the Prostap.Arrrrgh! my scan is onTuesday and still nothing!! I know they would probably give me some provera, but my question is should I start it myself as I have some tablets left over from last time or should I just wait till the 13th ??? The only reason I want AF to start on time is that otherwise it will royally mess up all the organisation we have done with our jobs, annual leave etc Any advice?

Hi all, @GAGA : looks like they are being careful as you might have mild OHSS same as mine? I also had to go and come back after 2 months! I was gutted when they said I couldnt have the transfer but to be honest, your health is more important than anything and OHSS is really scary and would not let the embies impant anyway, @ Fairy : why weight loss at this stage? hope you get to the weight you want soon.I am on a soup diet (on and off) as well and it is the only tasty way I can lose weight. Not ...

Hi Ladies, Thanks so much for keeping me in your thoughts. I had the prostap on the 5th of Nov, went for a mini break to Rome and loved loved it, felt very relaxed.I got my AF yesterday and called the clinic to let them know.Scan booked for Tuesday.I started getting the spots today on my face which is the only side effect I experience from Prostap. In fact this may sound totally wierd but I feel really good moodwise after Prostap, maybe it shuts down the PCOS and makes me normal!! Anyone else felt...

FET cycle starts this Saturday!

Hi Ladies I get my Prostap jag this Saturday, scan in 2 weeks time and then I think I start with the pessaries! I don't know what to make of these infertility treatments. It seems like they only know so much till the catheter goes in and the embryos are in the womb.Science actually stops after that and you are on your own and all the problems that you had before the IVF are the same, only they place the embryos closer to the uterine lining and HOPE!! I don't want hope actually I want certainty and ...

hi confused, thanks for your message.I don't know why they are saying that.Sometimes I wonder if there is loss of communication between people there.I myself work in the NHS and I know that it is difficult to achieve continuity of care but now I am wishing that it was only one doctor and one nurse who knew everything about me and not 10 different people.I emailed Prof Nelson once out of frustration and he assured me that the success rate for natural and medicated FET was the same which is why I ...

Tired of waiting!

Hi Fairy, Good luck for tuesday!! it is almost here! the waiting game is the worst part ever! I will get my Prostap injection on the 5th and the Embryo transfer 21 days following that!! I have found that GRI are not that great when it comes to giving information.I was asked if I want a natural or a medicated FET and I opted for a natural one. Then I got a phone call saying I should come on the 5th for my Prostap injection as they only ever do medicated cycles!!!,I am confused but just going with ...

@ drool hi chrissie, yes the waiting list does provoke anxiety but hang on in there. We had to wait 2.5 long years for our turn ,we are from NHSGGC.Even when you are in the process it seems like its all taking too long. I was so ready in August as I thought ,YES! egg retrieval has taken place, now it will be a cakewalk, but two months later I am still waiting for my second period after OHSS to come by to start the natural FET! Anyone here going through a FET??Please get in touch if you are ))

Hi Ladies I am just waiting for my next cycle to start in the first week of October so that the FET cycle begins. Not very optimistic about FET as I've heard that the success rates are not high, however our very close friends became pregnant on a FET vs a fresh cycle so fingers crossed. It will be a natural cycle as well and not medicated so not sure about that although the success rates seem to be the same for both. The loooooooooong wait has been hard but I think it was for the best because I di...

Hi fairy, You are right, everybody's body is different! why can't our bodies just behave themselves! Mine chose the crazy route and went hyperstimulated!!! The most devastating thing is the wait,My transfer will be somewhere mid October. So when will your actual EC be? They will probably start scanning you regularly.I am sorry to hear that you had cancer and I hope the coming time is very happy and uncomplicated for you xxx

Hi Shelly, it was not that great for me.I had 26 eggs retrieved!! and out of them 10 fertilised. They have a protocol wherein, if the eggs retrieved are more than 21 they freeze them all at one cell stage. They cancelled ET due to fear of OHSS.I was totally gutted and actually the last two days have been spent in tears under the duvet which is very unlike me,so maybe the hormones had something to do with my absolute mood crash.Although I know that it is much better to be safe than sorry, this is an...
