starting maternity leave!?!?!?!?

Quoted Originally posted by Torisen It is easy enough to take out the maternity leave earlier but that is time that possibly would be wonderful to have with the twins afterwards. This was something that really bothered me when I was on mat leave before the bubs arrived. I knew I had a set amount of time I could have off (4 months ), and because I was always told that 'twins arrive early' I didn't think I would have too long to wait, if I left at 33 weeks ... Turns out, it was just 5 weeks of de...

RE: starting maternity leave!?!?!?!?

34 weeks is perfectly possible hun .. I finished at 33 weeks (desk job), and then spent the next 5 weeks bored out of my mind, and wishing I had sayed at work If I were you, I would go with the later date, and re-evaluate closer to the time ... Oh, and check on the situation with the sick note. I think if you're signed off work in the last few weeks (11 rings a bell) for something pregnancy related, then your employer can insist you start your mat leave then xxx

Probably best to start a new thread Soph ... You'll get more responses that way. There's a section on General Parenting which is your best bet I reckon http://www.fertilityzone.co.uk/board.php?boardid=18

Thanks Soph Sorry girls, I completely forgot to update in here They all had a fab time, even though it was raining so none of the fun things we were going to do outside could be done. It was absolute bedlam though ... aren't kids loud?

Things they don't tell you before you get pregnant!

That you'll end up so big that you: Have to breathe in to get in your shower cubicle Won't be able to get out of the toilets at work, unless you stand over the toilet 'straddle-style', breathe in, and then open the door

It's T's 7th Birthday next Sat, and we're having a party for him and 10 of his friends (ummm ... yeah, didn't think it through really ) So, I wanted to try get some ideas for the kind of games we can play to keep them occupied, as well as any ideas for cool party bags We're asking the parents to send the kids with a spare set of clothes as T wants to have a water pistol fight in the garden which i thought would be OK ... For the party bags, I wanted to do the usual cake, toy, etc .. but also wan...

RE: cervical sweep

I 'think' that most midwifes will only do this if you're at least a week over ... Though i've heard of some earlier, but never less than term. I doubt a GP would do one though Had a sweep with the twins (which I don't think she did properly) and it was done by my cons xx
