** FET CHAT **

Hi Ladies! Pam - I think you are right to just take whatever you think is going to do the trick. Better to have taken a drug and have no regrets or what ifs than to have held off. I had my first lining scan on Weds, and start Stims next Weds! Looking at EC around the 21/22/23 September, so it's starting to feel properly real again!! My drug protocol is pretty much the same as on my precious fresh ICSI cycles, but with the addition of the steroids that seemed to do the trick after my last FET. I ...

** FET CHAT **

Hi again Pam Because my FET cycle was a natural one - which I think yours is too - I didn't have to use pessaries....Have you asked your clinic whether or not you really need to? Apparently if you run with your natural cycle, your own hormones are sufficient to not need the progesterone boost. It was lovely not having to use them, I have to say!! E xx

** FET CHAT **

Quoted from "Miss Anderson" Hi, Not sure how many use this thread at the moment but I just wanted to post as I am going to be doing a natural fet with steriods. I'm just waiting for AF to come (should be around the 18th August) and then I will be going off this cycle. Anyone else going through the same? or done an natural FET before? I have done a medicated one but not natural so not sure how this one is going to go. My peroids are quite regular and the clinic say if my lining doesn't thicken u...

Hello Again!

Hi all who remember me, and hello to those who are new to the site since I disappeared from it last October! Harriet Amelia is now 10 months old, and guess what? We are back on the IVF trail to try to get her a sibling...We must be mad, especially as I'm now 43! We have agreed though that it is worth giving it one last go, so here we are. Been down regging for a few days now, and hope to start the Gonal F stimulation injections in about 10 days time. Fingers crossed. Hope everyone is well, feeli...

Anyone got to have a c-section???

I had a c-section on the 16th October after a failed induction. It was honestly absolutely fine. Had the section Saturday night, and came home on Monday lunchtime. Wound had healed by the following weekend. The big pro is that your 'bits' are intact, and it is completely pain-free! The downside is that for the first night I couldn't change nappies etc, and needed a midwife to hand my little girl to me for feeding because I had a catheter in overnight. I'd say don't worry at all. It really was a ...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

So sorry to have left you all in the dark on my progress for so long...life just seems to have carried me away!! Anyway - Harriet Amelia was born via c-section (after a complete failure of an induction) at 20.30 hrs on Saturday 16th October. She weighed 6lb 10oz (so a lot smaller than expected!), and is absolutely perfect. We are all doing well, and settling into a semblance of a routine quite nicely. Elisa - so happy to hear that Xander has also arrived safe and well, and just a few hours after...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Hi all I'm still here, and still no baby! I go in tomorrow to be induced/have a c-section (depending on baby's position), so at least I know that the end is in sight now, and to be honest, I'd rather not give birth on the 13th!! Hope you are all well. I have a huge amount of respect for those of you still working so close to your due dates - not sure I could have managed it!

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Still here....still nothing.... Had the worst ever case of heartburn/acid reflux in bed last night, so didn't get much sleep at all. Am pretty much resigned to this baby not making an appearance on its own, and that we'll be going in for induction or c-section on Thursday. I mention c-section, because at the last check (a week ago) the baby was still not engaged, and it is STILL moving about like a mad thing. It seems to be all over on the left of my tummy at the moment, and I'm wondering if it'...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Quoted from "Elisa" Guess what girls .... I'm still here & still waiting!!!! Owing to lack of birth ball, am soon going to try bouncing on DH's knee to see if that helps. It is probably a guaranteed way to ensure that we end up at the hospital, albeit with me taking him to A&E rather than him taking me to maternity. Elaine, looks like I hit submit at the same time as you.... Booo! Was really hoping that your absence was GOOD news!! Still here too. Think this baby is going to make us use our ind...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Thanks for all the good wishes and labour vibes, ladies. Still here, and after my outing yesterday am feeling the pain of the weight of my bump. My toenails look lovely though! It's 10/10/10 today, so would have been a nice day to have the baby, especially as mathematicians also say that this represents the number '42' in binary (which as we know is the answer to life, the universe and everything!) The pile cream seems to be doing its job, as I am less uncomfortable 'down there' today, but I'm s...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Also still here.... Had more Braxton Hicks last night, but still nothing more. Gosh, I feel huge and about ready to pop. I've also, over the last two days, developed some lovely piles...OMG - the things we have to go through to have a baby!! They are very painful at the moment, but I only started applying the cream last night, so hopefully this will ease off. My body feels like a car crash at the moment - I just hope to goodness that I get something like 'me' back at the end of all this. Sorry t...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Quoted from "Elisa" AFM, well due date tomorrow. Have backache again and my ankles are killing me. I have absolutely no idea what Proto is planning on doing, but I do hope he/she gets on with something soon as I am now getting very impatient to meet my little one (which, being a frostie, the midwife calls my miracle baby). I suspect I may be back posting again tomorrow.... Take care, Know exactly how you are feeling Elisa. Had some contractions last night and was so excited as I am so uncomfort...

movements

Just to prove every baby and pregnancy is different, for the last 8 or so weeks my LO has moved almost 24/7 (even wriggling when it sleeps, apparently!) and most of the movements are big and quite painful. I had a trace done on Tuesday, and my uterus is already contracting regularly, getting ready for D-Day. The midwife said the contractions were big enough that I ought to be able to feel them, but I can't because the baby's movements are masking them! We couldn't tell if the baby was moving so ...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Hello all Not been online for a few days, and it seems so much has happened! Claire - congrats again on Alfie's arrival. Hope you get home as planned this evening. Kirstin - am so pleased you are back home and doing OK. What is the prognosis for your condition, have they said? Was it brought on by the pregnancy? Anyway, keep smiling hun - you have been amazing through everything, and I am so happy that you are getting lots of help while you recover. Ros - we bought an electronic breast pump at t...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Oh my goodness! Lorna, I am so sorry to hear about Kirstin's health problems - I had no idea! The last thing I read in her diary was that she was feeling fantastic and that all was going well... Poor Kirstin - her heart must be really breaking being away from her gorgeous girls now after waiting so patiently to meet them. She did so fantastically well getting to 38 weeks. Please give her all my love when you see her later. Myself and my DH (who has also been following her story) are thinking of ...

THIRD TRIMESTER CHAT - 2010

Have also had the same JoJo, as have all of the girls in my ante-natal class. We think it's just the babies descending and getting into position. I also get weekly BabyCentre e-mails, and they say it's normal about now to feel as though the baby is about to 'fall out of you' Haven't been around here for a while, so I hope everyone is doing fine. Congrats to Lala again! Wonderful news Welcome to all the girls coming over from 2nd Tri - it won't be long now! AFM - had my final consultant's appt. o...
