I want to start swimming lessons

V - Megan is with Aquababies but they do like them to start when they are young as they use the baby's natural dive reflex to teach them water confidence. have you tried the pyramids in southsea they do swimming lessons to for little ones - although the water is not meant to be too warm there. For little ones swimming the water should ideally be 32 degrees C otherwise they get too cold! I am swimming in the morning with M at the Marriott and if I remember I will ask her instructor if there is an...

RE: She cries !

Kizzy NO you are not being a cruel mother ....... M was exactly the same when she first started nursery but she use to cry for the full 4 1/2 hours she was there for, and I did feel very guilty ..... but I had to go back to work to help keep the roof over our heads. This continued for about 2 months, and I even contemplated changing jobs so that I could work in the evenings and not have to put her into nursery but would then miss having time with my DH I carried on, and now she loves nursery, as...

Hearing Tests

Willow It was just as you said above ... although they tried to use the speakers first with the toys in (hard to describe) but she was a bit young for it. So did the distraction test you said. All is ok with her hearing although they have diagnosed glue ear so we have to go back in 9 months time or before if we think it is getting worse. They think it might possibly where she is teething .... but will see

Hearing Tests

M has got to go for her 1 year hearing check tomorrow and although i am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with her hearing I am a bit worried about it. Does anyone know what they do at this test? Before when she went they attached earphones on her and did it that way and she slept through the whole thing. this time I have been told that she must be awake for it. she has to have this done due to her being premature and being in the neonatal unit

car seats

Jenny - hope you get the car seat problem sorted as soon as possible We have the same problem as Megan is now just under 20lbs and her car seat only goes up to 9kg. However I have spoken to Mothercare and also to an independent retailer who have both said to continue to use her current seat and move her into the next size car seat once she can sit for more than 20 minutes unaided, by which time her spine will be stronger. As at the moment she is safer travelling backwards It is a nightmare when ...
