MENOPUR QUESTIONS

I was told to do six powders in 1.5 ml of solution, so you need to break open two ampoules of water. This means that you don't have to get every last drop as you only need three-quarters of the volume from each. Easy! Since you'll be getting through the powders far faster than the ampoules, you'll have spare ampoules of water by the dozen so if you break some, it doesn't matter! This means one jab of 1.5 ml but make sure you're using 2 ml syringes!

ICSI & PCOS

Quoted Originally posted by anita77 1. what if I ovulate around 21 days when I start my Buserelin injection?? Many clinics will ask you to use barrier contraception during the down-regulation cycle. If you ovulate but you don't conceive, then it makes no difference to the stimulations and the outcome of the cycle. There are one or two ladies on this forum over the years who have conceived and then started down-regulation just 7 days later, and then found out they were pg so didn't proceed onto ...

Waking through the night....STILL!!!

I can't advise re the dummy thing, but for the going in when she's crying at night, all I can advise is to be consistent. If some nights you go in and stay in, and other nights you're tough, then she'll never know which sort of night it's going to be. You have to offer the same level of attention (or lack of!) every night for her to get the message!

Gregor has chicken pox

Get well soon little G! I think/hope it's true that the earlier, the better. DS1 had it at 9 months old and was off-colour but not really *ill* as such and didn't scratch at all.

Newbie trying for #2

Hi Amanda and welcome to FZ. I admire your perseverance of the 6 years it took for DS to arrive. I hope your journey for a second child isn't as long! As for taking clomid that you can get on the internet, I say *no, do not do it*. I have never taken clomid, but I know enough from the clomid moderators to know that it is very dangerous to do that. It can come across as a very mild drug, but it really isn't, especially because you produced multiple eggs and had to lower your dose. It is true that...

Help with injections

There's always a bit of liquid left after any injection, but you mustn't worry about that as they take that into consideration when they prescribe the dose.

anyone seen my sex drive???

Oh MrsJ, what a treasure that is. However, it isn't specifically aimed at post-child months, is it.

First time BBT Charting - question

I think the sore throat is the most likely explanation. However, if this is your first month of charting, are you aware that doing anything in the morning before taking your temp can push it up? If you got up in the night to go to the loo only a couple of hours before taking your temp, that can have an effect. Similarly, if you're awake and have a natter with your DP before taking it, that might make it go up. Best thing to do is to take it tomorrow and see if it's back down. It's very unlikely,...

EMBRYO TRANSFER QUESTIONS

EMBRYO TRANSFER QUESTIONS

Glad to hear you have two good ones, Pixie. Funny how something can seem good to us but actually not be good. Uncontrolled growth is not normal, so you're best off with the two 2-cell ones you have.

ivf/icsi and sex of baby

I'm competitive by nature too, but have low testosterone (checked on IVF work-up), yet I have two boys. I'd like to know more about the claims - I'm going to have to find a copy of Monday's Times, I think! I don't think IVF tends towards either sex. If it did, I think it would be a well-known fact!

ready for another?????

You say there is a chance it could recur, but is this chance *greater* because it's happened to you before, or just the same as if you've never had it before? I can see the worry, but I keep feeling that the drive we have to have and love another child is worth the risk and the pain. How would you feel if you never tried, and then looked back 10 years later? Would you regret it?
