advice please, worried about bottle to sippy cup/beaker

Hi loop! It is lovely to hear how you are getting on, even if you are worrying! My LO has his milk from a sippy cup during the day but will not take a drink before he goes to bed so wakes up after a couple of hours and is hungry. However recently he is SO tired that he gets upset and struggles to take his milk so i came on here for ideas! Im still dreading going back to work- want this magic time with me and LO to last forever! Good luck with it all Snoops xx

LO scratching her head

Hey loop! My LO still does this at nearly 6 months!!! He does have sensitive dry skin but he still does it when his skin is clear and moisturised so think its much more of a habit thing as he only does it when trying to fall asleep. I was delighted when i found sleepsuits with fold over mitts but he manages to wiggle his fingers out!! So ive just been keeping his nails short and have a big supply of scratch mitts. NEXT, Babies R Us and M+S do mitts for bigger babies. Boots do lovely ones for sma...

starting to wean

Hi My little one is approaching 6 months and im trying to get ready for weaning! Started introducing a sippy cup this week- he is not keen and think it will take a while. My confusion is really at what time is best to introduce soilds and when do i offer a cup? Surely not at the same "meal" time as that seems cruel at first!! My little one has 4-5 feeds at day so fits nicely into Annabel Karmel's plan BUT she doesnt say when mils should be presented in a cup!! Any advice/tips would really be app...

Crib Bumpers

Hi JMB!! I have wondered about this too. As Cheryl says, ive read that they are safe to use when the little one has its feet at the bottom of the bed but they have to be removed once the child is pulling up to stand- about a year old. But this seems to be more because they could use the bumpers to get out of the cot!! Lots of the bedding sets that i have seen have bumpers and quilts so dont seem much good for a little one!! Ive got this question on my list to ask at my antenatal classes! Snoopst...

wrist bands

Hi Would like to hear if anyone has tried to wear the acupuncture wrist bands that claim to help with morning and travel sickness? I am not vomitting but feel quesy for most of the day and wondered if these would help rather than eating something every 2 hours!! Thanks Snoopster

Assisted Conception Unit, Ninewells Hospital Dundee

Hi there Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): ICSI is a technique sometimes used with in vitro fertilisation (IVF) in which one sperm is injected directly into one egg in order to fertilise it. This is especially useful for men with very low sperm counts since ICSI ensures that the sperm reaches the egg directly rather than waiting for the sperm to naturally fertilise the egg. Thus, ICSI is sometimes used as a treatment method for male infertility. I had 2 ICSI cycles at Ninewells. I was see...

Getting more drugs

Hi Need some help! I bought drugs in Spain after our initial appointment in October but it looks like the patches are going to expire before I am ready to use them. Met with GP today and he is reluctant to give me prescription for more patches. I understand that it is dodgy asking for drugs that he didnt prescribe but surely I wont have to do a day trip to Spain to buy more??!! Do any of you have any ideas? Thanks Snoops

co-ordinator

Hi I wonder if anyone has asked for their co-ordinator to be changed? Our co-ordinator is not responding to emails or even acknowledging when she receives any of our test results etc. So its not that she is doing anything wrong but we are starting to loose confidence before we even start treatment! If anyone has requested a change, how did you do it? Who did you speak to? Snoops

How long after a lap did you wait to cycle?

Hi My Clinic said i could start down regging at my next af after the lap- that would have been 2 weeks later!! However, my lap turned out to be a bit more complicated and my gynaecologist said to wait at least six weeks after op. (My clinic and gnaecologist are at seperate hospitals!) So that would take me to the end of jan but i am not sure if i'll even be ready then- the cut on my bikini line has healed well but it still feels a bit hard and aches if ive had a busy day. Dont know how it would ...

Why don't men want to talk about this stuff?!

Hi Jim- dont worry about that you are a few months behind your wife. The important thing is that you are ready to talk now. I am sorry that there are so few men on this site for you to talk to but hopefully us girlies can help you through your journey. I wish you and your DW all the luck in the world. I know a family whose son has the same condition as you. Like everything nowadays it has been diagnosed when he was tiny and they are ready to tell him about his fertility as soon as he is ready.
