Shelly, Please don't give up hope just yet. Many women including me had brown discharge and cramps and thought it was over. I know it is really hard but just hang in there and keep hoping as much as you can. I had the same symptoms at the very same stage as you too and it was ok. Remember we are all here if you need us,xxxx

I wouldn't recommend testing early but obviously that decision is up to you. As much as I wanted to, I didn't because I was worried that the HCG trigger shot might still be in my system giving rise to a false positive and at the other end of the spectrum, if you are pregnant, the levels might not be high enough just yet giving you a false negative. This next few days really tests your will, patience and sanity but please do hang in there and keep hopeful, xxxx

Shelly - please don't give up. Personally I wouldn't test. I kinda felt like you would get the ultimate answer on test day, why torture yourself before with a maybe answer if you know what I mean. I did do about a hundred tests after test day on both +ve and -ve cycles just to make sure ;). Like Lisa says, anything could be happening. I didn't have any spotting of any sort but I did have a lot of cramping. It could either be signs of af but equally could be cramping from things stretching and growing. And fingers crossed that is what it is! And if it is, be prepared for that to continue for months and worry you every time... comes and goes with growth spurts. On both BFPs I also got hugely emotional and had a massive row with my mum and a massive row with dh and sat in floods of tears two days before test day. Other than that (irrationality) I had no symptoms really. And I was cooking two. So you just never know. I felt exactly the same on our BFNs, BFP that never got going and this last one. So anything can happen. Everything crossed for you!

Fairydust - welcome - may your stay be short and sweet for all the right reasons. Sorry to hear that you have had to go down this route but good news that your eggs and DH's boys seem to be in good condition. I had 3 round of IUI two of which were successful, sadly we lost one but I am now nearly 37 wks with twins thanks to IUI. I have also just turned 28 so similar age to you. Once you have had those tests and signed your consents it's pretty much just a waiting game and they won't really see you or be in contact until you hit the top of the list. When you have you will go in for more bloods and they will get the ball rolling and you will get told to call up on your next af to get put on the treatment list for the next month. Be prepared that they can only take so many patients in one month so when you call up they may be full and you may be told to call again at your next af. So call asap when it arrives. (I have to say this never happened to me but has happened to others. But I think it happens less with IUI cause IVF/ICSI are busier/need more theatre time etc.) Youu'll then go in and they will give you your drugs to down regulate and a date to go back for a a baseline scan. After your baseline scan they will tell you if you are ready to start stims and show you how to do it and tell you when to do it. Then you are on your way and are scanned untiil they think you are ready for insemination and then dh does his bit, taxi ride up and then wait for the results in 2 wks time! And fingers crossed! If you have any qns I am happy to help as I'm sure everyone on here is. All the ladies are stars and between us can cover just about anything ;) good luck!

MrsMcC --hoping you're off the crutches and back behind the wheel soon. What on earth happened?

Thanks hun. I developed Bursitis in my hip at the end of January. Two steroid injections and got knows how many painkillers/anti-inflams later and it's still no better (and I'm still stuck off work) Got an appointment with the ortho surgeon on 20th June and looking like I might need surgery to fix it. I'd honestly let them cut it off if it'd take the pain away!

Hi ladies,

Just a short 1 from me this evening as a little tender.

Only got 4 eggs and 1 is too small so 3 have gone to be fertilised so keep praying for me that they survive.
Had problems with the right ovary as my bladder was surrounding it so could only get the eggs from the left!

Anyhow xfingers as we only need 1 as everyone keeps telling me.

Thanks for all your support will keep you posted tomorrow after my phone call.

keep the faith in your eggs lissy
my 1st cycle i had 3 collected from one ovary (they wouldnt touch the other as there was only a few follies growing there)
that phonecall is terrifying as you need to confirm your details and it seems to take an age for them to get your notes and tell you how your wee guys are faring.
i hope it is good news, will be thinking of you

HI ladies, hope everything went well today Lissy. Hugs Shelly [zx127]

Quick question, about waiting times..... I know I know lol but can you remember how long you were told waiting time was and how long it actualy was until you started treatment?

Just that I keep speaking to people who were told 2 years (like myself) and were taken at like 6-8 months ?(

So just being nosey really :)

Thanks, hope you are all doing ok xxx

Lightening, sometimes the waiting time can vary either way year on year as they allocate the buget for each year. So, sometimes it means you are taken slightly earlier or later.

You may find that those who were taken after 6-8 months maybe counted their waiting time differently to you. You go on the waiting list automatically from when you are first referred by your local team so in our case, we were first referred in April 2006 and we were taken for treatment March/April 2008. Maybe these other people you mention calculated their wait from some clinic appointment. I hope this helps, xxxx

Shelly, I think you are doing really well considering what you have just been through. It is such a difficult time you are going through right now. It's good to hear you are positive and some good things to look forward to. Acupuncture is fab and really soothing and relaxing. It also has many properties for fertility treatment itself. I'm pleased you are going to get a chance to get away and enjoy yourself. Take care and we are always here, xxxx

Fabulous news, Lissy!!!! happydance :dancing: PUPO at last!! (pg until proven otherwise)! Hopefully in two weeks time you can drop the UPO and keep the P for 9 months

Hope you've stocked up on lots of books, magazines, dvd's and lots of other distraction techniques! No heavy lifting either. Gentle walks and pottering in the garden etc is fine. So happy for you! blowkiss

Shelly, sending you lots of hugs. Your emotions are so normal, but I know that doesn't help how you feel hon. Your mum sounds like an absolute gem. Hoping this coming week helps somewhat. Getting a way for a bit can help loads. :hugs:
