Hello, new, scared and just a bit bewildered!

Hi, my dh and I have our first consultation at Nottingham on Friday with a view to icsi so currently feel scared and a bit bewildered. Dh had a reversal of his vasectomy in 2010 and we've been ttc since then. The last results were not good and we were advised by our Gp that our only real hope of a child together was icsi. I 'm 41 and have a 20 year old son, he's 43and has two daughters in their early 20's and a 14 year old son. I also had an ectopic in 2004 which resulted in the removal of one tube......
Since finding out that icsi was the only real hope we have, it's been a pretty quick roller coaster, and I don't know if my head has quite caught up enough to digest what maybe our next step, but also know because of my age, time is not on our side.
Thank you for reading, I needed to try and express my thoughts in a place where I hope someone else will understand.

Thank you :c) I did post on here when we were trying to decide way back when as if to go ahead with the reversal or icsi. We decided on the reversal, and although we haven't achieved the end result we wanted, I think it was the right decision at the time. Now I'm not sure what the future holds or what our next steps will be.

Hi there

I just wanted to wish you well for Friday. I'm sure your consultation will go well and that it'll help you feel less scared. Just take small steps at a time and you will start to feel more in control and ready for your cycle. There are so many ladies on here who have had success with icsi and who I'm sure will be able to support you through this journey.

Write down loads of questions for Friday so you dont forget them and use it as an opportunity to get as many facts as possible.

Good luck!
