I am thinking 2 days at nursery and 3 days at a childminder, 8.30 -5.30. Even with the funding for 3 year old's its young to cost nearly £350 per week!!!
When I returned to work after having DS i requested flexible working and it was agreed and I worked 4 days a week 8-3 which was fab. They have now decided that part time working doesn't suit the needs of the business unless it is on a job share basis. I do not want to job share as half a week would not work financially as my hourly rate is so low after childcare, also I am a control freak and would struggle sharing my work!!!
The job does need to be office based but I don't really agree that I need to be thete all week, particularly as i would have an assistant. I think I will apply for the job, hopefully get it and then discuss hours in more detail, maybe slighty longer longer hours at the start of the week and shorter on a thus and Fri. I work as a planner in Logistics, the early part of the day and early part of the week are much busier. I would be twidling my thumbs on a Friday afternoon!
I can do the job on a 4 week trial but I am going to ask them to extend it as this is standard and I would like extra time to allow for the fact that I will have been off for 14 months. Oh decision decisions!!!
