Do you think it's ok to blend in full fat cream cheese to cauliflower for a six month old? She's eaten mild cheddar and yoghurt already so don't think she has any allergy etc. she is on 0.4 percentile so dietician recommended full fat cheese and milk etc mashed into as much as possible to increase calories but wasn't sure if cream cheese was ok for them to eat? Have googled but there is too much info, rather confused! I know protein is key so doing mix of purée and BLW to get as much down her as possible!

I often use to stir a bit of Philly through mashed veg as a quick alternative to making a cheese sauce! I also use to batch cook cheese sauce and put in an ice cube tray and just defrost a few cubes as I needed them to ad to veg or pasta. Anything to save time! : D

Wee cream cheese sarnies were a staple for my DS in the early weaning days, it's totally fine

The only cheeses you might want to avoid for a while are the unpasteurised ones like Brie etc, as they have a small risk of carrying harmful bacteria.

1x ivf - identical triplets - miscarried triplet at 9 weeks, lost my other two beautiful boys at 23 weeks - passed away shortly after birth 17th June 2010.

2012 Jan immune cycle ivf bfp baby7

Ds arrived safely 1/10/12 : D

2013 Aug immune cycle FET bfp confirmed miscarriage at 8 weeks

Cream cheese sarnies are a staple for Poppy! Own supermarket brand versions often have less salt in and it's nice with a bit of jam in too.

My DS always got on really well with ricotta. It's hugely less salty than cream cheese and you can use it in all the same ways - sandwiches, stirred into pasta, topping for potatoes, etc. It had been a weekly staple in our household since he was weaned! Enjoy this lovely exploring stage x
