Hi lynsey
I have to agree with flic my ds wasn't fussed with the usual baby cups but loved one with a straw, it's just a Mickey Mouse one I picked up in tesco, I think my ds enjoyed the novelty of a straw if I'm honest

What's next??
My girls have always liked straw ones too.
We like straws too. And there's a really nice cup with soft spout by NUK that had the softness of a bottle teat but is free flow.
We really rate the ubiquitous Tommee Tippee cup for out and about too - cheap, easy to clean and leakproof! We've got six on the go in our house!

Thanks all.
I will have another proper lok about soon. DS hasn't really got the hang of the whole straw thing. I did buy a few beakers in boots while on 3 for 2 some aimed at 12months, 15mths and 18mths.

My friends boys like the type with a flip up spout that they have to tip up, not sure of the brand but they sell them in the co-op.
Btw, I found it very much hit and miss with beakers, I bought about 10 before I got one DD1 really liked and could use with ease.
I think I know what you mean about the flip up spout.....DS finds those great for tipping water all over the place.
Thankfully the 2 sorts I bought he seems to have the hang of but gets on better with the one aimed for older children. I think it's because it feels a bit more like he is drinking out of a proper cup which he loves trying to do given half a chance!!
Milk he is still drinking out of his Nuk first cup thing he will drink it out of one of the other beakers but not as much. So at the moment we kind of have a bit of everything on the go.......so much for thinking I would be able to get rid of some of the beakers from the cupboard.

Yes I think the beakers my friend has are the type they can tip everywhere! Ah for the age thing, I'm sure that's a ploy to get us mums to update our beakers every few months.
Thankfully we didn't have to go through the whole bottle palarva as DS was 10.5mths when he came to us...mind you the only bottle he got on with was the Tesco value one 80p a bottle!!!! I even have 2 of those unopened in my cupboard as he came with a few more bottle than I though he would and he was only on 2 or 3 a day. Now we just use one for his bedtime milk.
I might palm off some of the beakers so there is one at my Mums one at my Dads etc for when we visit ten it's one less thing I have to take....if its the only option I am sure he will use it.
Net I hope you are blessed with baby number 2!!
