Change of milk and toilet habbits
Hi ladies looking for some advice on number 2's. I have been feeding my twins expressed breast milk for the first 8 weeks, they have then been on alternate feeds between aptimal and breast milk for a few days and now full aptimal. When they were on breast milk we got multiple dirty nappies every day, now we r only getting a dirty nappy maybe once a day if lucky i am worrying whether this is normal or not. Olivia is also on gaviscon so that could explain it for her but Amelia is not so thinking it's more likely the milk
Any advice appreciated thanks
xx

Hi pip, my little boy is exclusively formula fed and he is exactly the same. I asked the doctor and she said it is normal for formula fed babies. The formula is harder to digest than breast milk apparently. My boy is on Nutriprem 2 which is prescribed by the doctor specially for preterm babies to help them put on weight. It might be worth asking your doctor for it? Ryan is thriving on it xx
Oh thanks ashstar the hospital have never mentioned that to me, I would have thought they would considering they r small. That's good to know about the pooing. It seemed like a big difference to me when almost every nappy previously was dirty

Definitely ask about it pip. It was the hospital who originally gave it to me and then I just got a prescription from the doc. It's higher calorie than normal formula so I'm sure your little ones would benefit from it too. There's also the added bonus of not having to pay for it as it's available on prescription only!
That is defo a bonus spending a fortune on milk nappies and wipes for 2

Sounds very normal Pip - formula takes longer for them to digest so you tend to get less pooing than with breastmilk. Saying that, some breast fed babies can go a week with no poo and that's also considered normal! If it turns green go to the doctor but other than that sounds pretty normal to me. ( my DD had green poo - it was a lactose intolerance).
