Af's after baby

Hi ladies,
I am wondering when it is roughly normal for AF to return? Twins are 4 months old and no sign, I express breast fed until 8 weeks so going on 10 weeks of formula now and still nothing.
My periods were completely regular b4.
We tried along times for the girls and this was 2nd IVF but I don't want to end up pregnant so soon by some sort of miracle but also don't want to go on the pill after all the drugs I've had. Just want to know what my body is doing really.
xx

Hi pip

Hope you and your girls are well, mine started after 10 weeks but I didn't breastfeed at all so that might make a difference, can you speak to your health visitor about it? I remember when I was doing first fet they were going to give me meds to make my af come but not sure what it was and not sure if it would just make one af come or would start them of for you.

Hi pip,

I didn't breast feed at all either and Mine returned after about 8 weeks but have been pretty irregular ever since. The last one came just 3 weeks after the one before and was the heaviest I've ever had. They were always really regular before I was pregnant. I'm guessing it just takes a while for all the hormones to return to normal after a pregnancy.

Hopefully the health visitor can help xx
