Aaargh

Just had a phone call at work from MIL to say DD is not 'herself'. She's a bit warm and lethargic and sleeping. I'm sure she's fine but its awful when I can't se eher and KNOW she's ok. All sorts of horrid things are running through my head. I'm on here to distract myself so I apologise if I post anything stupid. Have cancelled some patients so I can go early but it will still be 6:30 until I can see her.

No but she seems happy that I don't ned to go now so I'm relying on her. Hope I don't regret it. She raised DH and has minded loads of other people kids, she's not daft and I trust her. Just had a text, she has had her bottle and is a lot better. Phew!

Well I got home from work and her temp was 39.4!! Excuse me but that is the highest temperature I have ever seen, even working with leukeamia patients with no immune system! Despite that she was only mildly grizzly, was smiling and weeing, drinking water and watching Night Garden! We took to the out of hours doc who says its obviously just a virus, which I knew, but I like a man with a stethascope to tell me! Now after some paracetamol, some ibuprofen, a cool bath and lots of cuddles, its come down to quite a respectable 37.3 and she's in bed.

Thanks girls.

I know just what you mean!

Re the temp thing a few months back we stayed over in Scarborough with some friends and Plum became ill. Her little body was so hot that it was like she was a radiator. I used my friends digital temp thingy and it was over 39 then I took it again a few minutes later and the digi thingy sounded an alarm and flashed "HIGH" at me instead of a number.

Me and DH completely freaked out and practically ran to A&E. Apparently bubsters can cope with much higher temperatures than adults which was something I didn't know. Definitely needed to hear that from someone with a stethascope!

Hope you are all feeling much better today x

Well she has a niggly little bit of a temp and a rash all over her back and she hasn't eaten much but she is as playful and mischevious as ever. And she slept all night. What a little star.
