'let down'

Hey,

Just a quick Q, out of interest....

I noticed that, about 30 secs before I get the 'let down' I get a strange feeling....not the tingly feeling in breasts (I get that too) but before that happens, I get this feeling, that is difficult to describe, but is like a mix of feeling sick and feeling like I am going to start crying at the same time - just very briefly, but its definately there, every time, right before the let down.......anyone else get that ??!!

Nope :D

But I can't say that 'let down' is a pleasant experience for me either...I get really painful feelings down what I assume are the milk tubes lol. Like they are going to explode (and then the other side from which I'm feeding usually does )

Hope you find out ur normal lol (although we all know your not :snigger:)

I used to get that. I think breastfeeding hormones are so linked in with your whole self that it is perfectly normal.

:snigger: I knew it would just be me!
It works out to my advantage though, whatever causes the strange sensation, as it gives me advance warning to make sure the breast pads are in place before the volcanos erupt ....I do get the let down sensation really strongly too .... :snigger:

Hmmm... For me it was the odd "tight" feeling over my breast-bone - the kind of feeling you get in your chest when you are fighting against crying and you get that odd ache that goes up into your throat, IYKWIM. For me though it was not before let-down but at the same time. And it started when C was about 6 weeks old and I got it at each feed till a few months after he started solids... Still get it once in a while...
