Growing Pains

Ds came into my room crying his heart out during the night as he had terrible growing pains in his legs, poor soul. It took a while for us to be able to calm him. We gave him some Calpol which seemed to work although he's too old for Calpol these days.

Its not the first time this has happened. Its been about 4 times in total over the last 2 years.

I am presuming this is just a normal thing for a 7 year old to go through, anyone have any advice or info on this?

Any stories would be appreciated xx

That is funny Donna as my ds has been having incredible pains in his side which i have attributed to growing pains - but when talking to my friends they have sadi it is usually in both legs - so i assume your ds is normal and mine is not! You could always check with school nurse?

Sorry for delay in replying xxx

Although it was a long time ago since I was 7, I do rememeber having terrible growing pains in my legs and knees, they would hurt for a few days and then it would go only to come back with avengence later. Perhaps you could take him to the docs just to get him checked out!

Hi Rufus, unfortunately ds doesnt have a school nurse which I find discusting as its doe to cut backs but thats a different story.

I asked his dr and he said its just growing pains and that its nothing a spot of Calpol wont fix. I guess he'll grow out of it, pardon the pun.

Donz ... Callum still gets these and he's 10 now.

I'd get the calpol 6+ and that should do the trick :D

Hi Donz

My DS is almost 7 and he has had a few of these, DH used to have it too. We usually use Calpol and sit rubbing his legs until he is more settled.
