Only 4 days left

I go back to work on Monday. 13 months off and now I have to go back. Am completely dreading it and feeling extremely anxious at the thought of leaving Max 3/4 days per week. I could cry at the thought of it. Please tell me it gets easier.

Logically I know he will be fine, we have a fabulous childminder and they adore eachother. It will be good for us both but goog god its hard! Hardly spent any time away from him since he was born. Im so sad!!!!

Its hard yes, but as you say it gets easier. Its also good for you cos you get some time at being ''you''. That is a good thing for you both. Of course, you adore being M's mum, but it really does make it all the more special cos you really do appreciate the time you have together.

Oh H I was exactly the same as you ... I think having 13 months off with Gregor made it harder to go back than if I'd gone back after say 6 or 8 months because he wasn't a baby anymore he was almost 1 :8o: --- have to say though I absolutely love being back at work ... my mum looks after Gregor while I work a couple of days a week and it's great to go to work and not have to worry about anyone else ... just you ... sounds a bit harsh maybe but it's great ... I get to eat lunch without coaxing anyone else to eat theirs or to stay in their chair and I don't have to wipe anyone's bum except mine :snigger: --- honestly it will do you both the world of good and just wait and see what a massive big smile and hug you get when you come home :D

Awww Glitzy... I'm sure it will get easier as you get back into the work pattern. Your little one will have a great time and it'll be you who's sad lol.

Just think how cool it'll be though to see him when you get home from work... quality time 100%!!!

You'll be fine sweetie

Thanks everyone.

Well it's done and you were right it was ok. Last night was the worst part, i bawled my eyes out after i put him to bed knowing i would not be here to get him up this morning. Anyway work itself was fine and it was nice to see everyone. Drove a zillion hours an hour to get back to pick him up thinking i would get that magical smile everyone told me about but he just looked really confused when i came in then went back to playing! He had never seen me in a sit before so think he was looking as if to say "are you really mum you look weird". We had lovely cuddles and playtime this afternoon and i have tomorrow off so we have the whole day together. Back to the madhouse on wednesday.

I just want to stay at home with my gorgeous boy!!! I know I have a very unhealthy attitude but god i wish i could win the lottery and spend every day with Max!!
