Hi Clare, sorry been working all weekend, i'd love to buy the play mat from you if you want to sell it, Money is very tight after the treatment, so having to buy 2 of all the major items is wonderful but very costly. Also as you say it wont be something that gets used for a long time, let me know how much etc, thanks honey xx

I just had two bouncers, to be honest mine weren't very good 8o I would go for ones that are suitable from birth and that lie totally flat. As for feeding hun when you feed two together with bottles the easiest way i found was to sit in the middle of the settee and have each babies head on your thigh and then bottle in each mouth!!! You can then wind one and carry on feeding one.....well while they are small you can :D Then as they get bigger they have to wait a bit :D

Will pm you about play mat chick. xxx

Lulu,

I have the Kick & Play Fisherprice bouncers they are great for feeding & have lots of music & toys, Molly goes mad when I play the music & kicks her feet to move the bouncer up & down!!!, they don't recline though, I also have mothercare fully reclining chairs but they were boring MIL bought them!!! twins are much easier to feed when they are 3 months, when they were tiny I use to prop up lots of cushions on our bed or put them on the V-shaped pillow.

Twinny Tips

Hi folks,

Thought it might be useful to kick this thread off that could then grow!!

All you twinny parents, if you knew then, what you know now. What killer tips would you give to a new twin parent.

The stuff that they don't tell you in the hospitals...

I'll Kick off and this post can be the list, i'll edit it as more get added.

1. If feeding formula - Get your babies used to room temperature milk

2. When trying to feed two babies with bottles at the same time, sit in the middle of the settee with each baby lying head on each thigh bottles in mouths....easy!!! You can then scoop them up to wind them!!

3. Feed them both at the same time and nap at the same time.

4. Don't be lured into cutesy pink and blue clothes when they are really young, they'll grow out of them in no time and if one is bigger than the other, you can't "hand them down" - buy white!

5. V-Shaped pillows - a multitude of different uses!! both ante and post natally!

6. Buy a Protect a bub (double) for side by side buggies, I was going to but 2 parasols until somebody recommended this and its brilliant. Keeps sun and uv rays off.

7. Join, Boots parenting club, Pampers and tesco's baby club as all the vouchers come in handy.

8. Dont buy many clothes as people buy you loads and babies tend to stay in sleepsuits for first few months.

9. Get a tumble dryer for winter and a very long washing line for summer.

10. Sleep when they sleep in the very early days.

11. Always get friends to help out when they visit, they love to help and it makes your life easier.

12. Try not to worry about a routine for the first few weeks as can stress you out and babies will dictate to you at first.

13. Get your DH to help out with the night feeds, its quicker doing both together, so you get more sleep

14. Think about what you buy as you really dont need somethings, for example I bought bottle warmers, never used them, A cot top changer, use a mat on the floor

15. Take loads of pictures and video as they grow so fast and enjoy every minute cos being a twin mummy/daddy is the most wonderful thing

If you have girl boy twins, don't be tempted by cutesy blue and pink...go white all the way - as they grow, one may well be bigger than the other and you wont be left up with your little girl in blue babygros! or vice versa.
