If it had been any other date it would of been brilliant X( but nevermind, what time is your appointment? I went back to work on Thursday and I really wish I didnt have to. Hate the place with a passion, applied for a few others so will just need to wait and see. You don't happen to know anywhere that's taking on people lol. Bet your gutted about the car I know I would be. Silly woman. Well only 50 days to go I suppose not that I'm actually counting :snigger: just thought I'd check just now, so got to keep busy busy until then but for now I think I'm going to fall asleep in the chair so I'm offskie.

Hi Girls... quick question... I have read girls on here talking about an NHS card? Is this something you need before you start treatment? I asked at my local GP's about this and they had never heard of it? Can someone please point me in the right direction .....

good luck girls... hopefully I'll be joining you soon xxx

Hiya, it says on your screening appointment letter that you need it, I just binned my copy correspondence but there is a specifi address in Glasgow to do with the health board you have to put in writing requesting one. It was my GP that gave me the contact number initially though :)

No AF, 13 days after Prostap for a constructed FET

Hi everyone,
I am panicking as my AF is not showing any signs of coming 13 days after the Prostap.Arrrrgh! my scan is onTuesday and still nothing!! I know they would probably give me some provera, but my question is should I start it myself as I have some tablets left over from last time or should I just wait till the 13th ???

The only reason I want AF to start on time is that otherwise it will royally mess up all the organisation we have done with our jobs, annual leave etc

Any advice?
First FET in Dec 2011, 2 8 cell class A embryos didnt work
2nd FET Mar 2012, blastocyst

Is it just a thing you get when you register with your GP because I think I might already have one. Not sure though. No not started anything yet, had bloods and urine taken in jan, bfs sample beginning of feb and got the consultant in a few weeks to go over results I presume then what happens after that I have no idea. What stage are you at??

Aye, it is! Everyone gets one when they are born, infact when I was telling my Mum the story she said she had mine in the house somewhere... typical! We have had our bloods taken, then we have an appointment in 8 weeks to sign everything off and Dr Vani seems to think we will be starting not long after that.... fingers crossed... the waiting is totally the hardest part eh?

I take it you are going for NHS? I might be actin a bit dumb but wilt you melody sign everything off? This year has dragged so much for me it's unreal. At our appointment with the nurse she said minimum wait for GRI was 14month. Nearly burst into tears when she said that but what can you do

Yes I'm NHS, I've been on the waiting list for over a year now. We had some treatment privately while we were waiting but unfortunatley it never worked, so I kinda know how it all works and what happens, just wish it would happen quicker! To be honest the GRI have been great with us I can't complain, the staff are lovely. We still have to sign our HFEA forms, but think that will be done at the next appointment before treatment starts. Just have to wait and see..... hopefully by the end of the year we'll be preggers!

Bit of an understatement -- I might be actin a bit dumb but wilt you melody sign everything off? -- lol I was using my phone and predictive text is a bummer sometimes. the first appointment you have with consultant is it to go over results and decide which treatment is best for you? I'll keep everything crossed that it goes the way you want it to go : D

Emma think i have been down the same route as u, we were at monklands and then were referred to the gri. That was a year past in dec and we have only just reached the top of the list, a long time but just knowing u are on a list makes it all seem more real! I dont remember ever receiving a letter to say we were actually on a list but its maybe worth a wee call in a few months just to make sure. We should be starting in the next month or so .... it cant come quick enough!

And hopeful2011 i have been following ur blog, please keep updating and good luck chick x

Hope - I know I was only messing, just everytime i read thru this thread all I see is ma bloody pink name lol, no offence but i hope its not 3 n a half years, dont think i'd be able to cope with that and i know many other people have waited that long but it seems like a ridiculous amount of time for somethin as important if you know what I mean?

Initially we were told 14 months then it was a year so hopefully its sooner rather than later. I'm the type that I want/need to know whats going on so I can be prepared for it. I've been googling IVF and eveythin to do with it, also the reasons why i've been referred for IVF. I dont know but I think if i had of been a bit smarter when I was younger I could maybe of prevented it from coming to this, but it has and I'm so happy about it, dont need to get upset whenever nature presents herself every month now because I know there could be a solution but its just frustrating waiting.

I just hope everyone gets what they've been longing for :)

I have just stumbled on this site and I'm not sure if I am posting in the right place so keep me right if I'm not :).
We were referred in Nov 10 and 1st appointment was in march"11" DH had SA then never heard anything back so I called in March12 to just ask what happens next to be told the we sould have had appointment to discuss SA so had appointment this week was told the we were nearly at top of lidt but I would have to lose some weight which hopefully I will find easy lol SA turned out great so DH will have to give that on 22may to have it frozen for start of treatment is this normal to be left without any corespond from GRI? Should I contact them more? Anyone know what the next step now would be? I feel that I've been informed of all that maybe I should know

Thanks for reading this

Has anyone had a successful frozen embryo transfer (FET) at GRI ?

Hi all,
This is going to be our third FET cycle ( never had a fresh transfer due to OHSS) and I have absolutely no hope that it will work. The whole cycle lasts 3 months only to put one blastocyst in and that does not take! After doing it all 2 times, I am starting to wonder if it is actually the clinic or is it me. I have been pregnant before but it was an ectopic, but I know that there was a heartbeat in the ectopic so everything works but we were really unlucky that time. I am so frustrated with FET's.I looked at the success rates on the HFEA website and it looks like only 5 in 50 women have ever had it work for them. I will be grateful for any positive experiences that people have had at GRI with FET.

Thanks xx
First FET in Dec 2011, 2 8 cell class A embryos didnt work
2nd FET Mar 2012, blastocyst

Hi JBI

We had FET with GRI and it worked!! Our little prince is now 3 past and goes to nursery in August :)

I have read that the success rate is very good at the GRI - can't remember where I read these stats though??

Good luck

Well just received a letter from GRI saying we've 2 appointments in June, 1 for dp to produce another sample then another one I presume is to go over the results of it and take more bloods? Didn't expect it at all, was shaking reading it haha oh wait just read it again, apparently its to asses whether we need treatment and if it is the case we'll be placed on a waiting list. Sorry but I thought the whole point of the Dr referring us was because we do need treatment. I know they need to do they're own investigations etc but its a bit annoying. Anyway can anyone remember what happens at this appointment?

Thanks for the positive feedback regarding FET at GRI

Hi Claire/ Trying again, thanks for the positive feedback, yours is probably the only success story I have heard. All friends, colleagues , whoever has had their treatment done at GRI have not reported success and no case at all where FET worked, so it is good to know that it really worked for you. How many attempts did it take and did you do something special on the time that it worked. We got Dr Lyall last time and she is supposed to be really good so we were really dissapointed but cannot do anything other than go through with the whole cycle again.

First FET in Dec 2011, 2 8 cell class A embryos didnt work
2nd FET Mar 2012, blastocyst
3rd FET Jun/ Jul'12
