How long till stimms debbie?

Andrea if you google 'Rmu glasgow' You should find a link to the gri private side and they have the up to date pricelist there
I did my private cycle with them in 2009 and you can self refer. It was fairly fast to get an appointment and start a cycle (included getting all my screening tests etc)

Hey

I'm bk on 13th Aug for bloods n scan n if all ok i will b getting date for starting stimms thereafter.

I found the referral process really quick. My first appt was four months after initial referral, i was told it cluld be six months or more to wait but luckily it was much quicker. Since my first appt i have felt things have went really fast. I was doing letrozole during wait for iui so i think that broke up the time xx

Hi everyone, haven't been on here in a long time. We just had our 1st icsi last week which ended in failed fertilisation, beyond gutted. Just wondering if anyone has or knows anyone who's had the same outcome and if the 2nd attempt was successful.

Thanks x

Hi everyone, not posted in a while.

We are now on our third attempt at IUI.

First one we were on 150iu of menopur for around 8 days then we were cancelled due to overstimulation

Second the meds were reduced to 75iu of menopur which after no response for around 7 days was upped to 112.5iu. I was injecting for 14 days and overstimmed again so another cancelled.

This time I was on 100iu of Gonal F - so much easier no mixing or worrying you hadn't got dose right - and to my surprise I responded great by the eighth day. I triggered last night, (day 10) and am due to go into have IUI on Thursday. I am so excited and nervous.

On Monday night I was so happy I could have cried then came the blow - my partner's work are not letting him off work. He is HGV driver and can't just pop out for appointments as he doesn't know what route he will be on or where he will be. I was devastated. To finally have got this far then be knocked down again. I called Hospital, during a break from the tears, and explained the situation. They were very sympathetic and advised they could call the Nuffield (where I understand treatment are being carried out while GRI is refurbished) and explain the situation. Then I got a call back. I was to collect a sample pot from the Nuffield, have my partner do his part as close to 7 am on Thursday then take it straight up. Luckily I live only 15 minutes from Nuffield so can drop it off asap. I believe they will give me a time to attend late morning/early afternoon to carry out IUI. I just hope handing in the sample this early won't cause any difficulties. My partner's work is really busy in December and they are not usually allowed to take time off. My partner won't tell his employer the details of what is going on - I don't know if he is embarrassed even though it is me who has the problem not him. It is really taking it's toll on our relationship at the moment and I am so worried. The stress obviously isn't good for either of us but these past few weeks I have just felt like he has given up just when we were managing to get somewhere. Sorry for going on.

Hope everyone is well

Hi all, had our first appointment at Glasgow royal today, after a referral to monklands initially and a long wait!

We are now on the waiting list woohoo, the nurse was lovely and said they are trying to get through the list as quickly as possible and also asked if I would be willing to travel to edinburgh if they can take me quicker so I have agreed to that. Fingers crossed the wait isn't too long,

Hiya,

Glad to say we got our letter from GRI to see Mr Underwood in May. That's been 7 months since our referral from Monklands. So it's been a long time coming. Glad it's some progress on the horizon.

I have no idea. My husbands to phone them and give them my details( I can only assume because he was referred for the Klinefelters alone) so I will get him to ask them what the appointment involves. I'm just happy out its progress.

Hi pip,

How are you getting on?

We are probably starting in the next 6 months or so, we will reach the top of the list by October/November, but we are doing simultaneous investigations and treatment. Hoping to hear about getting my hsg soon at Monklands. In the mean time my hubby is waiting for a biopsy( but needs to come off medication for 6 months prior) and we are starting the donor sperm process.

We will be Started on IUI for 6 cycles, then 2 IVF if no pregnancy.

Hope things are ok with you.

Hi Girls,

It seems very quiet on here on the treatment front. Hope you don't mind me joining you, not been posting on here since 2010 but I have been popping in now and again to catch up on what you are all up to. Anyone else on treatment at the minute?
I'm back on the ICSI journey, currently day 10 of stimms. Just wondered if anyone can clear something up for me? I had my scan yesterday and had 11-12 follicles (not bad as is more than our 1st attempt). At a previous appointment the nurse said I would get my nasal spray away with me at my scan but I never and it never occured to me until I left, I tried numerous times to phone yesterday and left messages but no one got back to me. My chart is marked with starting the spray on Monday and I am due back there on Monday morning anyway but kinda expecting to be given the go ahead for my trigger and EC on Wed. I am worried that I am meant to be taking this spray over the weekend. The last time I am sure I started it on day 8 of stimms. Protocol may be different from 4 years ago and I am also on a higher dose of gonal F with luverus this time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi pinkchick, it's really quiet on this thread. I'm in between my treatment just now had EC a few weeks ago which resulted in freeze all so will b doing a frozen transfer in dec.
I did find they r rubbish at getting back to u on the phone had to keep on calling. When I was on the nasal spray I was taking it 4 times a day first time at 7am if u r in early on mon u can prob just start it then but ur protocol does sound different from mine so I'm not sure
Best of luck

Hi Pip,
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm just on the run of the mill long protocol, my AMH is lower than it was the last time so on max dose of stimms + luverus. I managed to get hold of the nurses today and they said I was due to start the nasal spray on Monday so I would only miss the 1st dose however the lovely nurse lives just around the corner from me and dropped it off for me. Did you suffer from OHSS? Is that why you've had to freeze them all?

Pip,

Yes we are using the Royal privately. We were extremely lucky and were successful with our 1st NHS ICSI cycle so having to go private now. We looked at all the different centre's and decided to come back because it worked for us 1st time, was less expensive than the others and the new technology they now have with their scopes etc we are assured is second to none and is included as part of your treatment (you have to pay extra for that elsewhere).
At least you got lots of eggs and your body gets a rest before your ET, Dec will be here before you know it, countdown to Christmas has already started with X-factor and Strictly, lol!!! How many little snow babies do you have?

That's great to know that there are things the royal are including that we would have to pay for privately. We have 13 little embies on ice. They were all frozen on day 1 so I'm hoping they thaw and develop well. When r u scheduled for ur EC? Have u joined the cycle buddies? I find that a good support during treatment

Wow, I haven’t posted in here since April last year. Anyway so we changed clinics last year from GCRM to GRFC (formerly Glasgow Royal). . We were going to cycle in October but decided to wait until the new year. So now we are in January and I am just waiting to start my af which is due the 18th January. Then 21 days after we will be starting a new fresh cycle. The new clinic will be putting me on Gonal F whereas before i was on Menopur. I’m excited to be starting again and nervous also. Our cycle will be feb / march.

Anyone else cycling around same time as me ?
