Childcare Vouchers when on maternity leave

I just wanted to share something that I have discovered recently. I am a member of the salary sacrafice scheme at work for childcare vouchers. The HMRC website states that employers should continue to contibute the £243 towards childcare whilst an employee is on maternity leave without deducting it from SMP. I took a while for my employeers to agree but they have, and so will be paying £243 towards my childcare bill while I am on maternity leave. It's a huge amount on top of what I have already saved each month on tax when I was working. It might be something to think about for those expecting or planning baby no.2.
