Childcare Vouchers petition

Hi ladies,

If you have time please fill out the below petition. The petition is about help working parents meet childcare costs by raising the cap on childcare vouchers to £75 per week. Currently the cap is £55 per week and hasn't been increased since 2006. Since then, the economic climate has changed dramatically. Families are finding it increasingly difficult to meet living costs in the face of recession, inflation and a squeeze on pay and benefits. Further support should be provided to working families. To have this matter debated in the House of Commons, the petition needs 100,000 signatures. If you agree with the petition please take the time to sign it and share it with other parents.

Thanks ladies. The more people who sign it the better. Sharing it on Facebook is fab - thank you!!! Please spread the word as far and wide as you can.

Just to clarify, this isn't my petition, just one that I think is important for us struggling working parents. The cost of the childcare for my LO is more than my mortgage!!! I think it's outrageous and while increasing the voucher scheme won't solve the issue of cost, it does help a little in regards to affordability.

Lets hope it gets changed! It's so difficult like you our bill is more than our mortgage and when I go back to work next year it will be double! :hairout Just incase any of you don't know both you and you OH can claim childcare vouhers which doubles the tax saving. Also if you go on statutory maternity leave your employers have to pay the £243 each month without deducting it from your wages!

I have done it too.

Did I not read somewhere in the budget last year that they were set to get rid of this?

Thanks ladies!

Jappy - I hope not. I would have to quit my job and live off benefits if that was the case!!
