Hey ladies, hope all's going well for everyone! I'm almost two weeks into my spray and due to start stimming on Saturday but my period hasn't arrived yet. I've been spotting on and off (very light), for the last week but it just hasn't turned into anything. Anyone else had this whilst on synarel? Every time i think it's starting nothing happens. Have to ring on Wednesday if it hasn't arrived by then, fingers crossed it comes before that! X

Thanks anniemc, it actually started this morning so no need to worry about it. I am very irregular so it's hard to know when it was supposed to arrive but I thought I knew when I ovulated and expected it during last week sometime x

Ggirl glad to hear your injections are going well. Not sure about the spotting but give the nurses a call and they'll advise you and put your mind at rest. When is your 1st scan ?

Janelle that's good news that your period arrived. Mine arrived yesterday and I've never been so happy to see it lol. I start my injections on Thurs.

That's good, hopefully. I've never wanted my period to arrive so much before lol. And it's been taunting me for over a week just to make it worse. I'll not be far behind you, starting my injections on Saturday so we'll be very close! Good luck with your injections! Is this your first cycle? Sorry can't remember if you've told me this already, it's hard to keep track of everyone lol.

My scan is tomorrow morning Hopefully2018 so i'm going to wait and see what they say then - i'm still spotting but it isn't much! I'm just a little concerned about the lining thickness because of it - I guess they will see what is going on when I get my scan in the morning.

Hi Ladies, just an update from me....I had my 1st scan and after that they took bloods and told me I needed to go on a higher dose of bemfola! So for the last 6 days I'll be on 300 rather than the 225 I started on.

Has anyone any experience of this? Is this something to worry about? I can only assume it means I'm not responding as well as I should be?

Thanks Anniemc, I'm definitely taking it as a good thing that they are aware it needed increased but just concerned that it still won't be enough to get a good amount of quality eggs. I will have to just wait and see now I guess. I have 5 more days to go so fingers crossed these ovaries wake up a bit x

Next one is Tuesday - they told me they didn't need to see me again before that so i'm hoping they are confident this extra dose will do the trick! They didn't really tell me anything about the size or amount of follicles or anything so i'm completely in the dark - i'm staying positive though..........it will all be ok :)

How are you getting on with your injections - you started recently didn't you?

Sorry my last msg repeated twice. I started last night and all went well. 1st scan is Monday. Have you told friends and family? I did last time as I found it hard to lie. I ended up having a frozen transfer instead of fresh so when that happened I never told them the details about the frozen dates etc. I haven't told anyone dates this time but they know we were waiting on NHS. I keep being asked if I got appointments etc and have just been telling white lies.

I've been on the higher dose of injections for 4 days now and I really don't feel much different at all - so i'm still worried that nothing is happening as it should be :(

I have my scan tomorrow to see if all is ok and if i'm good to take the trigger shot tomorrow night so fingers crossed :)

I was like that last time, GGirl. I didn't really have any sort of twinges or discomfort. They upped my dose after the first scan and I ended up on injections for an extra week. In the end they got 4 eggs (not great but better than nothing), 3 fertilised and transferred the best two on day 3. Unfortunately they didn't stick but I was glad to get a few good enough to transfer.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, but be prepared that you may stay on injections for a while longer just in case that happens x

Dusky, wishing you good news with your next bloods.

I had my first scan, slow to start but it was the same last time so I was expecting it. There were about 3/4 ranging in size between 9-13. They are bringing me back in for another scan on Wednesday.

Janelle you are only a few days behind me. This is my 2nd time. I'm on all same meds as before so it's easy just to get on with it. Last time I made sure I was always in the house at the proper time to do injections but this time I had birthday party last night and had to inject in toilets then I had to inject in my car this morning after my scan. Was so funny trying to do it without anyone seeing

G-girl, I hope it's not the same for you, the extra wait is annoying but it's good to be mentally prepared in case it happens. Fingers crossed for today. Let us know how it goes! Xxx
Hopefully, I'm actually on different meds this time so kinda hoping I'll respond better this time but not getting my hopes up too much. I'm trying not to worry about it all too much this time either, just going about my normal life basically. I've done the injections in toilets last cycle, it wasn't too bad actually. Car would be hard so no one sees and thinks you're just shooting up lol. Good luck for your scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed for more follicles xxx

Well you were right Janelle, I have to stay on the bemfola and go back then for another scan and see if anything has improved - I have 7 follicles in total apparently so not brilliant :(

Id rather wait and get it right than just go now and see what we get so i'm happy that they are at least taking care of me.

And yes I agree Janelle, I would rather it this way than to try too early and get nothing - just a little frustrating but we will get there.

Beginning to 'feel' a little bit more going on today actually, feeling a bit crampy and have had a few little niggles in the ovary area so fingers crossed things are happening!

I had another scan today. Have about 7 on right side ranging for 9 to 17. 1 at 16 another at 17 and the rest are 9/10. Not much on left side, about 3/4 ranging around 9. Continue on same dose and scan on Sunday. I had similar experience last time, slow to start but do get there in the end

At least you are on same dose as well - they must think you are starting to get there without the need for any more :)

We are nearly there!

Scan wasn't great, not a lot happening again. They took blood and I've to ring later to see if they are going to up my dose. It's so annoying as I was really hoping for something more this time. Not holding out much hope now as this is the same as last time, they upped the dose, kept me on it for an extra 7 days and still didn't make much difference. They didn't say anything about how many follicle just that not much was happening x

The doctor called out the sizes to the nurse as she was measuring on screen. She didn't say much to me but as I've been through this before with GCRM I kinda have an idea what they are talking about.

Janelle sorry to hear that , fingers crossed those we follies start to grow.

I did hear the Dr say something about 9 on one side and 12 on the other but I didn't know if that was size or not! Perhaps it was - that was a week ago and before they increased my dose so fingers crossed they are bigger by now.

There was definitely no mention of any numbers between the Dr and the Nurse at the 2nd scan I had earlier this week though so no idea really what is going on.

It was supposed to be today but as they wanted to extend my meds I don't have a date anymore - I think the plan is for them to make sure they are happy in the morning with everything and give me more details then.

I'm thinking it will probably be Sunday though (not even sure if they do it on a Sunday though)?

I'm on 225 at the minute. I expect I'll up the dose from tonight and see where we are on Tuesday. As you say there a not really anything we can do, just be patient I suppose! I don't think they tend to tell you too much about numbers so you don't worry about it all too much.
I think they might do it on a Sunday if that's how it falls, I know that it works thst way for embryo transfer so possibly it's the same for EC.
Good luck!

Yes I am - so unfortunately they will give you another pen with the extra dose in it and you will have to do 2 injections everyday rather than just the one! :(

I have had no issue with the injections so I didn't mind so much doing 2 but if you struggle with them it would be harder i'm sure.

They told me that having to up my dose half way through meant I was a few days behind where I needed to be and that's why I had to add another 3 days of stimming overall so you may end up having to be on it for longer as well - although that maybe isn't always the case....you might be lucky and get to finish when you were meant to originally.

Let us know what they say when you ring! I'll keep my fingers crossed for good news for you Janelle :)

The injections don't really bother me, so it's fine if I have to do an extra one. I had to do two a day last time anyway so I'm kinda used to it. It'll be be a hassle trying to get down to pick up more beds (and more money too!) but I'll sort it.
I was told that last time too, that it's kinda like you're obly getting started again when you up the dose and I ended up on the meds for an extra 7 days but they said that's quite a long time extra.

So I had to call down to the royal this afternoon to collect more meds. Bemfola upped from 225 to 300 so have an extra 75 injection as well as the 225 one. Plus they have also put me on 75iu of luveris (not sure of spelling) which is another hormone injection that works a long side the bemfola if you're not responding as well as you should. Fingers crossed that will make a difference. 3 injections each night though! It's as well I don't have a phobia lol
Any one ever heard of Luveris or used it before? It's not something I've ever heard about on any of these forums x
